Moleskine:
Tonight Show and Crab Cakes welcomed 12  pax into the 1 year-old gloom of the Dragons Lair.  The air was crisp and it was a beautiful morning.  Perfect for an AO birthday party.

YHC had committed to Gator, the mosey would be tolerable even for a bum leg so with the mission statement, disclaimer, core principles, and credo out of the way, pax began a very short mosey up the hill to begin WaR.

WARM-A-RAMA
Mosey stopped next the baseball field where we stopped to complete a group of exercises.  Pax completed the real Don Quixotes and Abe Vigodas.

Pax then bear crawled to another road sign ahead to complete another short group of exercises.  Pax completed Tappy Taps and Big Ones.

Pax completed another short mosey to the stop sign where another group of exercises were completed.  When at the corner next to a stop sign monkey humpers are always called for.

For the final movement, pax lunge walked to the next major sign to complete a final set of exercises before moving to the wall next to the high school to do the Pre-Thang.

Pre-THANG:
In the last year this wall has seen a lot of things.  This morning it saw the pax completing 2 rounds of people’s chair and dirty hookups.  Then 2 rounds of balls-to-wall and dirty hookups.  With those out of the way, and the wall a little dirtier due to the mud on hands and feet, the pax were turned over to Crab Cakes for the thing. (Which pax could see from the wall)

THE THANG:
As we approached the site after the pre-thang some pax were wondering what crazy person left a spare tire in the parking lot. Once there we split up into 3 groups and began the workout.

Station 1- Tire flips, group holds plank while 1 or 2 Pax would do 3 tire flips, go through the line 2 times and call push

Station 2- Bricks AMRAP:

  • Round 1- Moroccan Night clubs
  • Round 2- Over heap claps
  • Round 3- Seal Claps
  • Round 4- Cherry Pickers

Station 3- Coupons AMRAP:

  • Round 1- Curls
  • Round 2- Overhead press
  • Round 3- Skull crushers
  • Round 4- Blockee’s

There was plenty of mumble chatter about the Q’s choice of tire and some surprised Pax on how much the little brick’s added to the workout, but we all powered through. After completing the 2 nd rotation, we took a quick break to get some legs in doing Copper Head Squats and Air Drama’s before hopping back into the rotation. When we were ½ way through the 4th round we called Omaha and loaded the spare tire in the truck. The Pax then did a short mosey back to the shovel flag.

MARY:
Once back at the flag the PAX circled up for 6MOM

  • E2k X 15 each side
  • Heel Touches – 15 IC
  • Tempo Leg raises X 20 IC
  • Scissor Kicks – 15 IC
  • Heels to Heaven x 15IC

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

COT:
“Anniversaries are an important part of life. They remind us of important events, both personal and cultural. Whether we’re marking a birthday, a wedding or civil partnership, a momentous event, or the death of a loved one, an anniversary puts a pin on the calendar to remind us of something that matters to us. It’s a chance reflect on a relationship or a cultural identity, to come together to remember a person who’s died, or to celebrate a joyous event.

Whatever the anniversary, it gives us a chance to look back over the years since the event we’re marking, and reflect on how it has shaped us. Remembering the past (but without letting it rule us) can be an important part of understanding who we are.”

This is an important AO to YHC.  This was the first step into Gretna and YHC was bullish about ensuring it was located right in the heart of Gretna and not on the edge being a DC south location.  I’m so proud of the relationships that have been forged over the last year and the men (and their families) that specifically live in Gretna that have been positively impacted by it.

I’m excited for the future as we watch a Gretna #HIM to take over in the month of May!

Always proud to be part of this group!
