0445 Pre-Festivities:

Irish Car Bomb, Parsecs & Beans joined Bobsled on a pre-ruck. T-Claps Parsecs for battling injuries! Jean Claude was sitting in his car, like a weirdo, making an 80’s playlist hahaha. Just kidding JC.  Although I hadn’t heard the name John Secada for a couple decades and now I can’t stop singing “If You Go”.  There were also pre-runners, but it was too dark to see who they all were.

0530 Welcome:

Bobsled welcomed everyone to the Sanitarium and F3 (Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith), recited the Mission Statement, Credo and 5 Core Principles.  There were no FNGs unfortunately.  There were, however, a lot of unfamiliar faces to me.  Bobsled reminded everyone to modify as necessary as he is not a professional.  There is a real risk of injury.

Warm-O-Rama:

Sun Gods, Michael Phelps, Big Ones, Runner’s Stretch, Hammy Stretch (my favorite, let gravity do the work)

Pre-Thang:

I attempted to do a head to toe body run, but there were too many people and it didn’t turn out like I had wanted.  Should have broken up into groups and raced from goal line to goal line.  Hindsight is always 20/20.  After that we did some football DB drills from goal to goal.  1) Backpedal 20 yds, break LT 10 yds; Backpedal 20 yds, break RT 10 yds; Backpedal 20 yds, turn LT & run 20 yds; Backpedal 20 yds, turn RT & run 20 yds.  2) 100 yds Alt Karaoke switch LT & RT every 20 yds.  3) 100 yd Alt defensive shuffle switch LT & RT every 20 yds.  4) Bear Crawl FWD, LT, RT, BK, FWD (20 yds each).  Each time we reached a goal line we performed 10 Burpees.

The Thang:

Sprint Murph

10 Superman Back Extensions, 20 Merkins, 30 Air Squats

Sprint 10 yds, repeat for 100 yds

Fall in and pick up six.

COT: (Don’t be so quick to judge)

I decided to run a race for my COT.  We all lined on the 50 yd line to race to the goal line, but first I read some statements aloud.  If the statement applied to you, I asked that you take two steps forward.  If not, remain where you are.

1.      If your parents were married, you had a two-parent household, or a father figure in your house take two steps forward.

2.      If you never had to worry about having a house to shelter you, a bed to sleep in, take two steps forward.

3.      If you never had to worry about having clothes, shoes, coats, hats, gloves take two steps forward.

4.      If you never had to worry about where your next meal was coming from, take two steps forward.

5.      If you never had to go into your own pockets or piggy bank to help with bills, take two steps forward.

We never ran the race.  I just wanted PAX, at that point, to look around.  To see how they may have started ahead of others. To see they may have had certain advantages.  To understand how life isn’t fair for everybody.  It’s not right or wrong, it’s just the way it is.  So, please don’t judge a book by its cover.  You don’t know that person’s journey or story or circumstances.  Please don’t look at how somebody dresses, or how their hair looks, how if they are clean shaven, or how they talk, behave or even what kind of music they listen to.  Everybody has their own story, and every story has a different beginning, middle and end.  Let’s be ambassador’s for F3 and in life under all circumstances!

Aye! Bobsled
