Title: “Time”

Total PAX: (16)

Q: G String

Prerun: Schrute, Razzle Dazzle, Animal House, G String, Double Dip, and Fun Dip

At 0515, G String welcomed the PAX to the F3, stating they found themselves at the Danger Zone. G String stated that F3 stands for fitness, followship, and faith. He covered 5 core principles – it’s free, open to all men, always outside, it’s led in a rotating fashion, and it ends in a circle of trust. He told them that we leave no man behind and no man where we found him. G String stated the Mission Statement of F3 – to plant, grow, and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership. He claimed to not be a professional and asked that PAX modify as necessary. He asked if there were any FNG’s and there were none.

Warm a Rama:

  • Moroccan night clubs

The group took off to the south outside the football stadium where they stopped along a chain barricade to do AMRAP Maverick Merkins and (4) sets of (6) burpees.

They then proceeded to the bottom of the hill due west of the softball field. G String had set up a couple of cones with signs indicating the (5) exercises to be performed. The group broke up into partners. Together they were to complete (73) reps of each exercise. While one did the exercise, the other ran up the hill, performed (7) donkey kicks along the fence, then back down to push their partner. Once the (365) total reps were completed, the group continued into the adjacent neighborhood, finding themselves in front of Fun Dips house. They performed (24) monkey humpers. The next destination was Chernobyl’s house (neighbors) where again (24) monkey humpers were completed. Beanstalk said he lived a few houses down but it was 0545 and they had to get back for Mary.

Once back at the flags, the group lined up on their six and performed a railroad version of Guantanamo Bay (lay on your six, legs elevated while a PAX shuffled by and forced your legs to the ground while you try to keep them elevated). The group completed about two rounds of this then Omaha was called.

I rocked my March of Dimes shirt representing my first born, Mason. Mason was born prematurely, coming out at 33 weeks at 3 days. We spent 6.5 weeks in the NICU and it was a very challenging and scary time for our family. It was difficult to navigate my daily life while trying to be at the hospital as much as possible. Most of the time, I couldn’t even hold Mason because he was in his little enclosure. I was scared and wasn’t sure what to expect. Fast forward 6 years, he’s in first grade, reading, writing, and is getting self sufficient in many ways.

We had a recent change in our family with our second kiddo now going to preK. That leaves just our youngest in daycare. When I was dropping our baby off on Monday I light heartedly told our daycare provider that I didn’t want to start any tears but it’s hard not to acknowledge that she just has the one kid now and not the two.  Her response was spot on. She said, “The days can be long, but the years go by fast.”. As I left I made a mental note to not forget that phrase because it’s true. IIt feels like just yesterday I’d be visiting Mason in the NICU at the hospital every morning and now we’re driving all of our kids to different spots every morning. I share this story with the group to remind them that time is precious and it won’t stop for anyone. Wishing for Friday is wishing your life away so enjoy every day with those you love in the now, regardless of how hard the days can get.

G String prayed us out.

Aye!
