10/06/2023: The Brickyard

Temp:  48F, windy with light rain

QIC: Parsecs

I arrived at 4:30 and did a 30 minute pre Ruck in vests with Bobsled (site Q) and Irish Car Bomb.  Bobsled one-upped us by carrying his coupon on this ruck which was an out north and back on the trail.  Upon return I worked on set up while the other 2 went and walked in one of the garages.  We noted rain was moving in so I adjusted my plan to work out near the play ground using the shelter to protect our electronic timer and speaker from the elements.

PAX:  Tassels, Snidely, Tin Cup, Folsom, Irish Car Bomb, Caruso, Bloodshot, Gigablast, Bobsled, Royale (FNG), Parsecs

I welcomed all to F3 The Brickyard and fumbled my way through the 5 Core Principals but get them all eventually.  Free of Charge, Open to all men, always outside, peer led and ends in COT.  I continued on noting that we leave no man behind but leave no man  where we found them.  Further our mission is to Plant, Grow and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership.  We had one FNG who showed up after hearing about F3 through a co-worker.  We were all impressed he showed up solo!

Warm-A-Rama

Formed a circle near the playground.  We opened with some Side Straddle Hops, Big ones and then performed some Sun Gods (Forward/backward) all in cadence.

Pre Thang

Omitted.  Went straight into the THANG.

The THANG

The THANG consisted of 4 AMRAP stations that had 4 exercises at each with generally 3 of the 4 exercises at each station being Coupon oriented (modify as necessary).  Utilized a timer for one minute per exercise, then rotate to next station.  Attendance allowed for 3 groups of 3 and one of 2 per station.

Station 1:  Curls, OH Press, Bench Dips, Core – LBC’s with Coupon

Station 2:  Alternating Lunges, Blockees, Run the small circle, Core – Plank

Station 3:  Triceps Extension, Goblet Squats, Merkins, Core – Frozen Freddy

Station 4:  Bent over Row, Murder Bunny, Flutter Kicks, Core – WW2 with Shoulder press

Time allowed for 2 complete cycles through all 4 stations before Omaha was called.

Ended with Slammers followed by Name O Rama.  NOR included an introduction and naming of Royale, as well as the passing of the BrickYard chain from Tassels to Carusso.

I screwed up and did my COT before announcements and prayers, but it all worked out in the end.  Listed in proper order below….

Announcements & Prayers:

  • Freed to Bleed
  • Prayers and opportunity to support Pork Chop – Their family home burnt down and they lost their dog to the fire.
  • Tassels’s M
  • BetaMax’s Son
  • First responders
  • Any mistakenly omitted and those prayers kept on our hearts

COT

My playlist included a few random songs but also included I won’t Back Down (Tom Petty), Sure Shot (Beastie Boys), Dream On (Aerosmith), In the Air Tonight (Phil Collins).  These got me thinking about opportunities.  I discussed that in life sometimes you have a lot on your plate and it makes sense to say No so that certain things don’t bog you down.  But this same concept becomes an opportunity for you to pay attention to those around you (both at home and professionally) and look for the chance to run with opportunities if others are too bogged down to take them on.

As Han Solo would say…..I Got a Bad Feeling about this!
