Q: Boss Hogg
I welcomed the PAX to Stormbreaker at 0530. I recited F3’s Mission Statement, “to plant, grow, and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership.”
We have 5 core principle:
- Free of charge
- Open to all men
- Held outside
- Led in a rotating fashion
- End in a Circle of Trust (COT)
Our Credo is to “leave no man behind, but leave no man where you found him”
With all that being said, we took off on a mosey around Prairie Queen Elementary. We grouped up on the NW corner of the school, out of the wind where we completed Warm-O-Rama:
- 15 Cherry Pickers-IC
- 15 Tappy Taps-IC
- 10 Big Ones-IC
- 5 Motivators
From there we jumped directly into “The Thang”:
In an effort to help Amadeus celebrate the Detroit Lions’ divisional playoff win, we had a list of exercise spelling out LIONS:
- LBCs-20 IC
- Imperial Squats-10 (4 count)
- OYO (PAX Choice)-20
- Nipple Touch Merkins (Hand Release Merkins – I didn’t like any of the exercises that started with “N” in the Exicon-20
- Scorpion Dry Docks-20
Rinse and Repeat
We split into two groups. One group would work on the exercises while the other group took off on a mosey. The moseying group would return to push the exercise group. So on and so forth until OMAHA.
OMAHA was called at 0606. We moseyed to the front of the school, completed a bit of Mary, then ended things with Sarpy Slammers.
Announcements and Prayers
- CSAUP this Saturday at Gretna East
- Halfway House this Sunday
- There were a number of prayers voiced this morning – the Q thought he had saved them in his phone, but evidently did not. We did lift those up to Sky Q this morning.
COT:
I piggybacked my COT off one given by Woodstock at the Sanitarium last week. Woodstock talked about “endless positivity.” He spoke about how even during challenging times, there are always things to find to be positive about. I left that workout feeling great mentally and it really carried me through the day and through the following day. However, on Thursday I fartsacked the Sandlot. I woke up with major FOMO and was just in a foul mood while getting ready for work and to take my 11 y/o daughter to school. My daughter typically is NOT a morning person. Thursday mornings are early for her due to arriving early for school for band practice so those mornings can be exceptionally challenging. On top of my already bad mood, I was dreading having to “deal” with a cranky kiddo. However, on the ride to school she was all smiles and chatting away. So I asked her, “you’re in a great mood today. Usually, you’re not excited for band. What’s going on?” She replied by saying, “I’m just trying to work on being positive.” It was exactly what I needed to hear in that moment, taking me back to Woodstock’s COT. That despite some of the setbacks, difficult times, etc. there is so much to be thankful and positive for. Lessons can be learned anywhere, even from an 11 year-old.
Aye!
