Q: Hard Hat

YHC welcomed the PAX promptly at 5:30 disrupting all the mumblechatter occurs. Some may say I was yelling, those some need to chill. Went through the core principles, mission statement, and disclaimer. While waiting for a couple of stragglers, we ran in place, then moseyed on over to the NW parking lot on the campus.

Warmarama: with longer moseys, we had the crew plank til the 6 got in. Once in, we did some 12 Big Ones IC, and 20 SSH IC. At some point we counted off, had 22 guys. Then at another point, we counted off by 11’s. I like to do this for partner work so you’re not partnered with the guy next to you, and it doesn’t leave anyone struggling to find a partner. Plus you might get paired up with someone you’ve never met.

Pre-Thang: Hilly Dora: We used the dam-like hill near the parking lot and had the partners do cumulative reps of 100 V-ups, 200 Merkins, and 300 Squats. While one guy is doing the reps, the other will Bernie Sanders up the hill, run down the backside, do one burpee, Bernie back up, then run back down and relieve his partner, picking up the rep count where ever he left off. This was great, especially because the hill is crazy steep, so guys would fall on their asses trying to back pedal up. The bottom of the backside of the hill was pretty dangerous too, with stumps and holes, etc. along side it. Nothing like fending off broken ankles and busted tailbones to start your Tuesday! Before any group could complete their squats, “Omaha” was called to give us time to move on to the Thang.

Thang: Epic Peckers: We ran over to the parking garage, which is so fun to have the motion activated lights kick on when you move through it. One partner got in a BTW position to do AMRAP Chicken Peckers, while the other partner sprinted to the far end of the garage, touched the wall, then sprinted back to switch with his partner. Each guy got to sprint and Chicken Pecker, then we moved on to the Post-Thang.

Post-Thang: Serenity Now: We moseyed up the stairs and through the courtyard and ended up on the nice grassy hill near the fountains at the entrance to Sterling Ridge. Here we each found a nice spot for a solid Broga sesh. No counts were performed, but poses included: forward fold, mountain, down dog, low lunge, moonlight buttchug, good morning, some Oh-Yeahs (11 IC each way), and pigeon. Then we moseyed back to the flags to wrap things up.

Closing: Plenty of announcements (check Slack to keep up with everything), some prayers for Andy, Art, FDIC’s co-workers and leaders of the organization, Happy 18th Birthday to QuickSnap! COT: LB had mentioned in his COT at Boundary Line how ADD brain kicks in and gets him off track. I feel the same way. I had to try to let it flow this morning. A thought I’ve had a lot lately is about anticipation, which has mostly been positive, but continually having super positive anticipation can lead to let downs when things don’t shake out the way you thought they would. I’ve been dealing with lots of comings and goings of possible career change opportunities and have been awaiting an offer that I’m pretty certain is coming. Thankfully on Saturday I had the opportunity to participate in Market2Market which helped take my mind off all of that business for a day. It was an amazing experience, and I’m so glad it happened. But now I’m back to waiting on something that is out of my control at the moment. Try to recognize when you’re anticipating things that you try to keep positive thoughts with it, and not dwell too much on the things you can’t control. Enjoys the highs of it and don’t spend much time thinking about the let downs.

Much love!
