Welcome: We had a great sized group show up for this workout, and the precipitation was much appreciated. The PAX got the full spiel welcome along with the expectation that this is you vs. you, and you know what you are capable of, so push yourself to use great form, grind out an extra rep before stopping, and just give it your all. With that, we moseyed to the field behind the school for a warm up.

Warmarama: We started off with some Rope Shows to help loosen up the hips, then carried on with reaching high into the sky and folding over and reaching for our toes. Next was 20 IC SSH, then on our 6 for 10 Iron Crosses IC. Then to 20 IC Mountain Climbers. After this, we moseyed on over to the blacktop for the Thang.

Thang: 3 man grinder: We numbered off into groups of 3. Guy 1 would be the push and would start by the light pole West of the blacktop. He would then hop over the bike racks, then sprint the length of the court, do 10 burpees, sprint back, and if so inclined, jump up and try to slap the backboard, then relieve Guy 2. Guy 2 was at the wall doing either Balls 2 the Wall or a Wall Sit. This station was AMRAP, choose whichever exercise you liked, then hold it for as long as you could, then switch. Guy 3 was over by the playground to the West. Here he would do AMRAP slow merkins, or DC squats, or flutter kicks.

6MOM: We did some AMRAP Travolta Merkins for a while, then some Moroccan Night Clubs, then finished off with Rancid style American Hammers.

COT: Over the last few days, several things have been floating around my head about working hard. Five years ago I made a career change which had a much slower pace than what I was accustomed to. Almost four years ago I started doing F3. I’ve seen quite a change in myself during that 1st year of work, then from first starting F3 to now. F3 had been a great outlet for me to push myself in challenging ways, because I wasn’t seeing much challenge at work. I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, because I’m finding myself really bored with work. We’re all at different places when we come to F3, and our fitness levels can vary quite a bit, but if we all push ourselves, we are suffering the same. That is something I’d heard recently from an ultramarathoner. It doesn’t matter your pace, if we are all running the same race, and finish, we’re suffering the same. Some may just be finishing sooner, but we’re all pushing ourselves to what we are capable of. Continue to keep pushing yourself, and also to strive to compare yourself to who you were yesterday.

Aye!
