Circle of Trust: The Archer and the Enemy of Insecurity

This morning I want to talk about a subtle enemy—insecurity.
Jocko Willink says that when a man feels the need to prove he’s tough, smart, or important, he’s actually waving a red flag of insecurity. And if we’re honest, every one of us has felt that pull—wanting to be seen, validated, or admired.
But as Archer men, we know our mission:
- Our identity is in Christ.
- Our purpose is to aim our time, energy, and attention at the targets God has given us.
- Our calling is to hit the bullseye, not to show off our bow.
The Bible reminds us in Galatians 1:10:
“Am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? … If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
Insecurity is the Flux that pulls the Archer’s aim off course. When we worry about our image, when our ego drives the shot, our arrows scatter. But when we anchor our identity in Jesus, humility replaces insecurity. We no longer have to prove—we simply have to aim true.
So here’s your challenge today:
- Confess where insecurity is pulling your aim off target.
- Release the need to be validated by others.
- Draw the bow with confidence in Christ alone.
When your security is in Him, your arrows fly straighter, your relationships deepen, and your leadership carries quiet, unshakable strength.
Let’s drop the red flags of insecurity, pick up the bow, and lead with humble confidence today. AYE!”
AYE!
