COT:

I feel the best COTs are when guys open up and talk about their personal lives. This is the only opportunity I have to do that outside of my wife, my immediate family and close friend group. Unfortunately, I gave a similar COT to this in September. My wife and I are trying to get pregnant and it’s been quite the journey so far. We recently started taking medication after getting blood work and hormone levels drawn.

Every month in our house around “THAT” time, can be a pretty depressing few days. Anger, frustration, self-doubt. Then a few days of talking ourselves through it and gearing up for the next month.

I shared this yesterday with Bambi and E85 during Woodshed beat down that we were trying to have kids. Bambi said he had 4 kids and I told him we were trying but would never be able to make it to 4 because my wife and I are in our mid-30s.

He shared that his wife was 37 when she became pregnant with their oldest and she carried pregnancies into her 40s. That brought me some much-needed perspective and a sense of calmness that we are not the only ones who have experienced this life situation and difficulty.

I shared that with my wife yesterday and it got her to smile, of which she was struggling to do the day before. Hearing stories like that and those positive interactions are what F3 is all about. Hearing that small piece of information from Bambi impacted me more than he had any idea. Its small but it’s exactly what I needed to hear. Keep your ears open, make mumble chatter with the guy next to you. Because you don’t know what he’s going through or how a small interaction could impact him.
