AO: Berm

PAX (19): Armando, Slow Clap (Respect), Cataracts, Armbar, Chucky, FNG (Stripes), Truly, DOA, Misery, Toto, LPC, FNG (Bunko), Cradle, Motorboat, FNG (Grip n Rip), The Plague, Schnitzel, T-Swift, Pantyhose

QIC: Pantyhose

YHC pulled into the AO at 0435 for the 0435 Berm prerun after a quick stop down at the lake to set out cones for the impending beat down. A solid group of prerunners had formed, including an FNG (Stripes) brought out by Chucky.

Prerun crew arrived back at the shovel flag at 0510 to see a salty group of HIM gathering near the flags.

YHC welcomed the PAX at 0515, recited the 3F’s, mission statement, five core principals…the disclaimer may have been inadvertently omitted. It was going to be a great day. One FNG on the prerun and another 2 in the mix for the beatdown. In usual Pantyhose fashion, just before setting out on the trip down to the lake, we started with a quote:

“Commitment means staying loyal to what you said you were going to do long after the mood you said it in has left you.” -Unknown

Pantyhose lead the group west out of the parking lot and towards Flanagan Lake.

The Pre Thang

In route to the lake parking lot, the PAX made a stop on the street backing to Birdman’s house. Unfortunately, Birdman was not in attendance, so as one last ditch effort to get him out of bed the PAX proceeded with three exercises in the road behind his house:

  • Monkey Humpers x 15IC
  • Pickle Pushers x 15
  • Oh Yeahs! X 15 each side

To no avail, Birdman apparently remained comfortably in his fartsack. PAX moseyed to the parking lot for The Thang.

The Thang – Leg Day

3 stations:

  • Station 1 (Parking lot):
    • Lt. Dan’s (right leg forward lunge, left leg forward lunch, air squat, repeat)
    • Proceed for approx. 50 ft and then mosey to Station 2
  • Station 2 (AMRAP):
    • Bench step ups
    • Single leg (quad) extensions (from a starting dip position)
  • Station 3 (AMRAP):
    • Monkey Humper
    • Al Gore

Omaha was called at 545 to transition to the final exercise before heading back to the shovel flags.

PAX moseyed to the stop sign near the parking lot entrance and proceeded with 3 rounds of sprints up the hill, and jog back down the hill. At the conclusion of the third sprint the PAX made their way back to the flags.

Interested is not committed (www.thedailycoach.com)

  • When you are committed, you find a way. When you are interested, you find an excuse.
  • When you are committed, you do whatever it takes. When you are interested, you do what is convenient.
  • When you are committed, you do it consistently. When you are interested, you do it occasionally.
  • When you are committed, you take accountability. When you are interested, you cast blame.
  • A committed leader feels the truth helps. An interested leader feels the truth hurts.
  • A committed leader appreciates what they need to hear. An interested leader appreciates only what they want to hear.

FNG’s you were interested last night…that interest got you out here this morning. All of us were interested once, and I think I can speak for most of us that we’re not committed to this thing we call F3 Omaha.

You may have heard recently about the 4 year dip…historically, some F3 regions see a “dip” in their 4th year. The excitement wanes, people lose their focus, maybe folks start taking it for granted…ultimately, they lose their commitment.

My ask to each of you – new and old PAX – is to stay committed. Stay committed to each other and the 4 year dip will not have it’s hold on F3 Omaha!

Aye!
