Safety
- Have your cell phone on you at all times.
- Know the address of your site in case of emergency.
- First Aid kits are recommended to have in your vehicle.
- Have a headlight, Noxgear, reflective vest, etc. for pre-runs or especially dark AOs.
- Alternative route for pre-runs in extreme weather to stay close to AO. Tracks, shorter loop.
Preparedness
- Have a workout prepared in the event your site Q doesn’t show.
- Communicate with your Q ahead of the beatdown to ensure they remember they are Qing. Ensure they have what they need, lights, cones, coupons, etc.
- Best practice to have some extra lights or cones with you. Batteries die, people forget things. Don’t let a lack of preparedness derail a beatdown.
- Stay on top of having Qs booked several weeks out so you are not scrambling on a week-to-week basis to find a Q.
- Have extras with you: gloves, coupons, weights. FNGs show up unprepared often. We can’t be open to all men if simple gear prevents an FNG from being successful.
- Alt pre-run route for runners who can’t keep up on the regular route.
Communication
- Clearly communicate before the beatdown to the Q that you will pick up the 6 and you want them leading from the front.
- Having a map of your AO on your X account is a good idea especially if the Q is not a regular at the site.
- Have a pre-run map of the route on your X account.
- If inclement weather conditions are expected discuss with the Q where the best wind breaks, or rain shelter is located. Same is true for winter quarters if available at the AO.
- Social Media Checklist:
- Before the workout:
- Pre-blast on Twitter the day before the workout
- Short reminder about the upcoming workout
- Can be a simple tweet, but should be fun (create excitement)
- Before the workout:
- After the workout:
- Tweet the name-o-rama video, number of PAX that posted, FNGs and tag @F3Omaha within two hours of workout.
- Write the backblast and send to Site Q. Ensure that FNG contact info included in backblast. Backblast should be creative, witty. List all men who joined.
- If you are not going to be at your site. Ask someone to cover. 1st F and Weasel Shakers are assigned to every AO. Just ask for help in advance.
- Encourage the Q in advance not to call Omaha to early 5-7 minutes before the scheduled end time depending on distance from flags is usually long enough for name-o, prayers, announcements, and COT.
Standards
- Ensure the beatdown starts on time. Keep your eye on the clock and help remind the Q of time remaining.
- Ensure each beatdown begins with
