After the pre-run, 21 PAX met at the flags (Ketchup would “catch up” later). Yogi welcomed the group to F3 – Fitness, Fellowship and Faith. Our mission is to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership. Our credo is to leave no man behind, but to leave no man where you found him.

Core principles:

1. Are free of charge

2. Are open to all men

3. Always outside

4. Are led in a rotating fashion

5. End with a Circle of Trust

FNG’s? – We had 1 FNG brought by KOA named Brett.

This was only my 3rd time at Paradise and 1st time on Q, so planned on running the traditional route around the lake – then I proceeded to run in the wrong direction! Luckily the PAX helped guide me to the right route.

Just before the lake, we stopped for some warmarama.

Warmarama:

• Side Straddle Hops – 15 IC

• Tappy Taps – 10 IC

• Imperial Walkers – 15 IC

• Side Straddle Hops – 15 IC

We then proceeded to mosey around the lake in the traditional Paradise Island route, stopping 4 times for pain stations. My last workout at Paradise was with The Plague on Q and was informed they had once called it “Burpee Island.” I felt the need to continue the tradition, so 10 burpees were done at each station.

Station 1 @ the clubhouse:

• 10 Burpees led by YHC

• 15 jump squats led by FDIC

• 15 LBCs led by LPC

Station 2 @ the dock:

• 10 Burpees led by YHC

Station 3 @ the bottom of the rose:

• 10 Burpees led by YHC

• 15 Bobby Hurleys led by Barbershop

• 15 Rosalitas led by YHC

Station 4 @ the top of the rose:

• 10 Burpees led by YHC

• 15 Monkey Humpers led by Biff

• 15 (extra goofy) Goofballs led by Roadhouse

Proceeded back to the flags. There was a lot of good mumblechatter on the run today. I also got to meet a few PAX I hadn’t met before and reconnect with some I hadn’t seen in a while.

When we got to the flags, we counted off and proceeded to name-o-rama. Ketchup came running in right at the end – he had thought it started at 5:30 and had spent the last 30 minutes looking for us. Appreciated him coming out and staying!

Naming of the FNG – Brett works for a British company and was named Biscuits(credit for name is disputed between Bubbles and Slow Pitch/Roadhouse)

Prayers: Praying for Grillz family and High Life’s family.

COT:  I had an idea for a COT, but it changed during the run. As I had said before, this was only my 3rd time at Paradise Island. I had gotten turned around twice and almost ran in the wrong direction. There was a lot of new faces and an unfamiliar AO for me. But this is what I love about F3 – I can jump into leading an unfamiliar place with unfamiliar PAX and feel unwavering support from the group – I was free to fail. I wasn’t concerned about judgement and felt like I was at a home AO with my brothers. Thanks to the Paradise PAX for your support and to Icy Hot for the opportunity to lead.

Aye!
