Moseyed up the hill to the shotput field.  6 cones were spread out.  Playlist of instrumental horn music going.  Not sure why I chose that, but it felt right for the morning.

Jumping right into it, pax split off into 3 groups

COT – eyes up!

I got to see Dan Thurman talk last week at a work conference. The guy was amazing.  54 years old and did a hand stand on the podium of the conference room we were in.  He could ride a unicycle and… He could juggle, not just tissues or tennis balls, but an axe, machete, and flail. He is a goal completer.

He explained the key to juggling is not ever looking down.  You keep your eyes up and your hand will find the object.  The only thing that matters is where you’re throwing the ball to, and that’s where your eyes stay.

He also explained that you need to keep your eyes up when you’re riding a unicycle, and that you’re always balancing. Theres no such thing as stability, so you lean towards the direction you want to go and then your legs will pedal to chase your lean.

These things are why Dan is a goal completer.  He keeps his eyes up and while he’s focused upward, he leans toward the direction he wants his life to go and works to keep it going.  There’s no such thing as the perfect balance of life, and it is a constant struggle to keep these balls of work family personal interests and faith in the air, but believe in yourself and put the work in, keep accelerating and crush your goal.

AYE!
