It was a lovely start to the day when I pulled up to Iditarod and saw the amount of cars in the parking lot. Gave me FOMO with all the pre runners but not real FOMO due to that pre run being awful! Plus, I wouldn’t have to listen to Boji talk about the Hawkeyes…so I consider it a lovely start to the day.
I set up the day’s events and slowly more dudes starting coming in and I saw the glorious smile of Gator. Such a beautiful smile with lovely hair to match. I immediately got excited to tell him about the trivia of an old movie classic – IRON WILL. Such a solid movie from 1994 and knowing how Gator knows everything, I knew he’d know it and he’d know all the answers. To my shock and utter disappointment, Gator has not seen this classic. Knowing that HIM, he will hopefully watch it before the next time I see him so we can fan girl over that flick.
So on goes the intro….

And the beatdown, and COT without any major issues, minus the fact that counting is still hard for me and I still don’t know if we had 26, 27 or 25 people at the beatdown. Good news is, there was some sweating, laughter, and plenty of Mufasa bashing, which is all we need in this sweet world.

COT – “Heart Rate”
So I recently had a health scare last Friday. I was having some weird chest pains and at the age of 39, I wasn’t taking any risks…plus I told my wife, and she forced me to the ER to make sure everything was good. After getting hooked up to all the machines and all the tests, everything turns out fine and my heart actually looks perfect. The nurse even complimented my “runner’s resting heart rate” I never felt more like a man. Even my wife was impressed…more on that later. While laying on that bed and thinking about what’s going on, it really dawned on me that we need to make sure we ourselves to the doctor if we ever think anything is serious. It’s not worth it. We’re already out working out and taking(semi) care of our bodies, but no need to be tough when it comes to the heart. I also realized in the moment that my M does love and wasn’t excited about collecting the insurance money if something was seriously wrong. I also felt the love from her the next few nights. My heart was working there! Not as long as it does during the beatdowns or pre runs, not anywhere close actually, but the old ticker was still beating hard. All in all, we need to take care of our bodies and also not wait until you’re laying on a hospital bed to tell your M or the people in your life that you love them. I love you all and can’t wait to hear how Fine Print’s fake heart attack works out in the bedroom. Loves
