Circle of Trust:   Difficult experience

There are a lot of difficult experiences all of us have been through.  Relationship struggles.  Losing loved ones.  Dealing with addiction issues for ourselves or people we love.  Those are big ones, but there are plenty of smaller ones.  Tough work situations such as toxic environments or challenging coworkers.  Struggling to get through a tough run or overcome an injury.

I think about these difficulties not because I enjoy thinking about bad times, but I bring them up to give myself strength for future struggles.  There are plenty yet to come.  When I reflect on these past struggles and how I’ve gotten through them or moved forward as they continue to linger, it gives me the confidence to know that I will get past the next challenge and the next and the next.

Everyone has challenges and difficulties and there are different ways of dealing.  At the end of the day though, you push yourself past them or you don’t.  You rise above and overcome or you lie down and give up.  People that do the latter don’t make it very far in life and often are the ones that want to blame everyone else or situations on why they aren’t getting ahead.  I don’t want to be that guy.  I want to understand that I have it within me to overcome.

To conclude, use these challenges or difficulties to become a better man.  That’s truly what it is all about…God putting these “opportunities” in front of you to become the man that He wants you to be and that you were meant to be.  As the elders in F3, it is up to us to help remind the younger pax of this too…that challenging situations happen for a reason and that reason is to make them a better man so embrace them.
