- CoT – YHC Shared about surrender
- Step 12 of Alcoholics Anonymous urges us to: “Carry the message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.” This step is about giving back and sharing the personal transformations we have achieved through our journey in AA. It serves as a reminder that our recovery is not only about ourselves but also about helping others find their path to spiritual awakening.
- Understanding Spiritual Awakening – spiritual awakening as experiencing a profound shift in perspective. This transformation involves realizing that there’s a greater power at work in our lives, guiding us and shaping our responses to challenges. It’s akin to viewing life in a new light, where opportunities for growth and service that were once overlooked now stand out.
- Step 3 of Alcoholics Anonymous teaches us to “turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him,” paralleling the wisdom found in Proverbs 3:5-6, which instructs us to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” Both passages emphasize the importance of surrendering self-control and relying on divine guidance.
- Surrender is not a one-off event, but a continuous practice that unfolds daily. It requires constant effort to let go of self-will and embrace God’s will. Men can aid each other in this journey through sharing experiences, offering strength in moments of doubt, and celebrating victories over self-centered behaviors. This brotherhood forms a vital foundation for ongoing spiritual growth, with each person’s journey inspiring and elevating others.
- A Call to Action: As leaders and members of this spiritual fellowship, let us commit to supporting one another in our shared journey of surrender. Let’s use our meetings, our conversations, and our actions to remind each other of the wisdom of letting go and the peace that comes from trusting in a higher power. Together, we can achieve greater spiritual awareness and a deeper fulfillment in our lives!
