10 Pax arrived at the flags, and we reviewed the core principals, mission, credo and disclaimer.
We circled up at the flags to get some warm-a-rama going ASAP. Today we are gonna log more miles than usual for a coupon beat down.

The PRETHANG:
• We paired up (one coupon per pair) and moseyed over to 102nd and Lincoln
The THANG:
We stayed in our pairs. The workout was “simple,” with your partner take your coupon to the bottom of Lincoln (basically 96th) do 50 core exercise reps (PAX choice) and return back up to 102nd. You can pass the coupon back and forth to each other as much as you want. QIC was not going to police that. When you reach the top of Lincoln, do another 50 core reps. Rinse and repeat. For those that aren’t familiar, this stretch is essentially a 75 ft climb (3/4 mile down and back). Side note: Chernobyl and Fun Dip completed the workout in 20lb vests. I called Omaha at roughly 5:45 and we headed the ½ mile back to the flags.

Circle of Trust:
With Memorial Day approaching, I had my daughter ask me what is the difference between Memorial Day and Veterans Day. I felt embarrassed, almost as if I had failed as a parent. How did I let my teenager get to this point without teaching her about such a special day. I had a friend of mine (and Levy’s) who lost his life in combat in 2004. His name was Cpl. Shane Kielion (USMC). I instantly thought about Shane and others who I let down by failing to teach and honor their legacy. I wasn’t going to let that be the case this Memorial Day and challenged others to do the same. I ended the COT by sharing Shane’s story. He graduated from Omaha South High School, joined the Marine Corps in 2002 and married his high school sweetheart April. Shane tragically lost his life in a fire fight with insurgents in Fallujah. The same day he passed; his son Shane Jr was born. Hard to tell that story with a dry eye. We are free because of the brave men and women like Shane. I then prayed us out.
