Feb. 26th @ Lake Zorinsky aka Animal Kingdom
It was a beautiful morning to say the least. The temperature was about 40 degrees with a light breeze, and the sun was shining. Jean-Claude had beat me to the party and had already acquired primo parking for F3Omaha to display Its colors. To many of the PAX surprise, this Polar Plunge fundraiser was more like a college football game tailgate with cornhole in play, various teams with creative costumes, and the faint smell of Busch light and Bloody Mary’s in the air. With some pump me up 90’s tunes blaring from the back Of Jean-Claude’s ride, the remaining PAX trickled into the parking lot in time for our 9:45 5K run. We were amped up, excited, and proud to be there supporting the Special Olympics Nebraska.

11:00 Polar Plunge
PAX: Toto, Tater Tot, Jean-Claude, Retweet, Speed Square, Grillz, Jeeves, Skittles, LPC, Truly, Tube Socks.
Arriving back to the shovel flag at 10:45 post second 5k run, Retweet was already there with a towel in hand ready to hit the beach. Slated to be the 31st team of 38, we had plenty of time for coffeteria and fellowship before plunges began at 11:00.
While waiting for the early teams to plunge, their was a noticeable change to the PAXs demeanor as fear began to sink in. Skittles was there already slated to plunge with another team and Jeeves came in hot ready to plunge with what appeared to be a speedo before speedos were a thing. None the less Jeeves energy was awesome. Prior to the plunge, Wentworth, Wait Time, and Hey Hey had showed up to offer their support.
After a few pre game discussions about where to do Name O Rama afterwards F3 Omaha was ready to Plunge. Thanks to Tater Tot we got the whole Plunge on video and despite Skittles having already plunged two groups ahead, he circled back like a true HIM and plunged once more!
Upon exit of the lake, the PAX couldn’t get to Name O Rama fast enough. We soon gathered up and displayed to everyone around one of the best elements of F3. What an awesome opportunity to showcase our Name O Rama to the community and the shear passion this group has for our qwerky yet contagious routines.
Unfortunately for Jeeves the Plunge took his glasses but thanks to some fellow PAX was provided a replacement. Jeeves justified the loss with taking action to schedule his lasik.
All in all we had a great time and was able to support a great cause in that of the Special Olympics Nebraska. We had set a fund raising goal of $2,000 and far surpassed it bringing in $3,038 in total. We were ranked 13th of 38 participating teams for funds raised. The SONebraska raised over $125,000 in total which will be used to support the more than 6,000 Nebraska athletes.
A big thanks to all the plungers and our supporters that have helped pave the way for F3s continued impact in our local communities.
Until Next Year,
Cheers!
Toto
