The morning began promptly at 0530 where the PAX were welcomed to F3 and the Sanitarium. We covered that F3 stands for Fitness, Fellowship and Faith. I recited F3’s Mission Statement, “to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership,” as well as F3’s five core principles:

  1. Free of charge
  2. Open to all men
  3. Always held outside
  4. Led in a rotating fashion
  5. End in a Circle of Trust (COT)

Our credo is to “leave no man behind, but leave no man where you found him.” Lastly, I reminded the PAX that I was not a professional; to modify today’s beatdown as needed.

We circled up by the shovel flag to complete a brief Warm-O-Rama:

  • 20 SSH IC
  • 10 Big Ones IC
  • 15 Moroccan Night Clubs

The Pre-Thang

We took a short mosey around the parking lot and ended up at the parking lot just North of the shovel flag where I explained to the PAX that we would be completed a set of 11’s focused on core: Big Boys and one end and Superman’s at the other end. Those that completed early picked up the 6 as we do.

The Thang

The PAX moseyed to the other parking lot, NW of the shovel flag. There were three cones surrounding a center cone, each about 25 yards away from the center cone. The nine of us split off into groups of three, each going to a different cone. At one cone, the group would complete 15 T-Merkins, at another cone, 15 Copperhead Squats IC, and at the final cone 15 LBCs IC. After completion of the exercises we would all convene that the center cone, complete 3 Burpees together, then move to the next cone in clockwise fashion.

OMAHA was called at 0605. We moseyed to the shovel flags, completed about five minutes of some Broga, before moving on to Sarpy Slammers and NOR.

COT:

I shared how I have a group text with my Shieldlock. It’s generally pretty lively. It is a great resource for support, celebrating each other, and for humorous nonsense. I was taking a walk on Sunday morning and realized that the group text had been eerily quiet for the past week. This was probably due to all of us having busy schedules and other obligations, but it still felt off, so I decided to reach out. I reminded the PAX that even when life gets a bit hectic, do your best to make efforts to reach out to those that are most important to you.

Aye!
