The morning began promptly at 0515 where the PAX were welcomed and we covered the F3 Mission Statement, “The mission of F3 is to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership.”

We covered the five core principles:

  1. Free of charge
  2. Open to all men
  3. Held outdoors
  4. We are led in a rotating fashion
  5. We will end in a Circle of Trust

We covered that our credo is that we will leave no man behind, but leave no man where we found him.

I reminded the PAX that I am not a professional and to modify as necessary

Warm-O-Rama

The PAX immediately started their watches and we ran East up Main Street to the elementary school where we completed Warm-O-Rama.

  • 15 SSH’s
  • 10 Moroccan Night Clubs (Had to do these since Fun Dip was in attendance)
  • 10 Big Ones

The Thang

I informed Animal House the night before that I would be ripping off the format for today’s beatdown from his beatdown at the Sanitarium about a month ago. It’s conducive for movement, reps and some mumblechatter…I loved everything about it. Imitations is the sincerest form of flattery, right?

The PAX split up into three groups. There were three cones stationed around the school with the three groups starting at their respective cone. The exercises on the list would stack on top of one another. Doing the first exercise at each cone, then for the second round we would perform the first exercise, then the second exercise. So on and so forth until Omaha was called. The exercises were:

  • 7 Bonnie Blairs IC
  • 14 Carolina Dry Docks
  • 21 Frozen Freddies IC
  • 28 Merkins
  • 35 Air Squats
  • 42 SSHs

I underestimated just how long it would take the group to get to the school and back to the flags. We only made it through three rounds, but the group got in over 2.0 miles of movement, still got some reps and there was great conversation this morning! We called OMAHA about 0545 and moseyed back West toward the shovel flags

FNG

The Farm had one FNG this morning. Todd is a criminal defense attorney in Sarpy County. He will be Sarpy County’s new Public Defender come January 2025. Several solid names were thrown out. Todd is now known to F3 as “Suits.”

Nugent Flag

This morning kept getting better with a Nugent Flag pass. Gaga had received the flag the previous morning at the Steel Mill. Gaga recognized this PAX as someone who continues to lead by example and passed the flag to Animal House. I informed Animal House that Gaga’s choice was a terrible one. However, we all know that’s a lie. Animal House is a true HIM! Congrats, brother!

Announcements:

  • Lot Lizard VQ this coming Monday at Stormbreaker
  • 2.0 beatdown at the 7:00am slot at Oracle tomorrow

Prayers:

  • Fun Dip asked for prayers for his family dog as well as his family. His dog is going through some serious health issues.

COT:

I mentioned that I had given a COT at the Danger Zone back in May just as school was getting out. I talked about how I had shared that my son was going through a lot of stress as he was managing academic expectations with athletic activities, however, my wife and I were unaware of just how much weight he was carrying. My kids have since had a great summer, but school will be starting shortly. My son will be a freshman this year and my daughter will be starting middle school. New and exciting challenges await them, but they will still be challenges. My wife and I talked about needing to be intentional with checking in with our kids and being present. We need to not expect that everything is “fine,” just because they aren’t sharing or just relying on the idea that kids are resilient. I reiterated and encouraged those PAX with kids to make sure that you’re checking in with them regularly to see how they are balancing life.

Aye!
