I welcomed the PAX at 0515 and promptly covered the F3 Mission Statement, “The mission of F3 is to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership.”

We covered the five core principles:

  1. Free of charge
  2. Open to all men
  3. Held outdoors
  4. We are led in a rotating fashion
  5. We will end in a Circle of Trust

We covered that our credo is that we will leave no man behind, but leave no man where we found him

I reminded the PAX I am not a professional and to modify as necessary

Lastly, I shared that this was my first post at Fancy Feast. I was super pumped to be on the Q out west. I always enjoy a beatdown that brings the swagger and mojo boys together!

Warm-O-Rama

We moseyed down to the football field and completed:

  • 10 Sun Gods IC (forward and reverse)
  • 10 Moroccan Night Clubs IC
  • 10 Tappy Taps IC
  • 10 Big Ones IC
  • 15 SSHs IC

The Pre-Thang

We moseyed over to the hill on the west side of the football field where we completed a series of 11’s, with Merkin Jacks being performed at the base of the hill and Carolina Dry Docks at the top.

The Thang

Following the Pre-thang, we moseyed to the south goal line of the football field. PAX were told to get into small groups. While the groups weren’t necessary to complete the beatdown, it’s always good for the mumblechatter. The PAX completed the following exercises:

  • 20 Bonnie Blairs IC, run to the 20-yard line, complete 2 Burpees, return to the south goal line
  • 30 Big Boys, run to the 30-yard line, complete 3 Burpees, return to the south goal line
  • 40 Merkins, run to the 40-yard line, complete 4 Burpees, return to the south goal line
  • 50 LBCs, run to the 50-yard line, complete 5 Burpees, return to the south goal line
  • 40 Air Squats, run to the far 40-yard line, complete 4 Burpees, return to the south goal line
  • 30 Dry Docks, run to the far 30-yard line, complete 3 Burpees, return to the south goal line
  • 20 Frozen Freddie’s IC, run to the far 20-yard line, complete 2 Burpees, return to the south goal line

PAX rinsed and repeated until OMAHA was called at 0550

COT:

I shared with the PAX that I had been in Des Moines the previous weekend for my daughter’s softball tournament. On Saturday, I was taking shelter from the sun under a shade tree while waiting for my daughter’s game to start. Near me, a coach was meeting with his team which had just lost, and their season had come to an end. This coach went on about how proud he was of his players and praised them for their resilience throughout the season, battling through challenges during the year. I sat there thinking how fortunate these girls and these girls’ parents were to have a coach that was such a positive role model and expressed belief in his players. This reminded me of a COT that Animal House gave a few weeks ago where he mentioned that the most important words that a person can hear are “I believe in you.” I encouraged the PAX to apply that mindset with them. It can be applied with our relationships and interactions with our M’s, our 2.0s, our coworkers and colleagues. Be resilient and believe in others.

I took the group out in prayer.

Aye!
