At 5:15, YHC welcomed the PAX to the Catamount Complex and recited the 5 core principles, mission statement, credo, and disclaimer.

          YHC had been thinking about and looking forward to finally leading at the Cat house again. January 30th is a significant day in my personal history. I was running a bit late for the 415 Missy Elliott pre pre run and was secretly hoping nobody else had showed up that early. To my surprise, I pulled in the lot and noticed Schrute’s vehicle. I told him I was kind of a mess today because of a variety of issues that had arisen early this morning. No time to complain, I switched up the pre pre run to help with the set up for the beatdown. We still got in 3 miles and everything was set up for my Q. The regularly scheduled pre run went off without an issue and to my surprise I saw Ogre and Hip Hip running their own route as I arrived back to the flags. At 515 we got things rolling or should I say running. We took off towards 42nd street and took a left on Greene Avenue. Green avenue would take us to Aldersgate Preschool. This is about 1.2 miles of hills from the AO and the place where I went to Preschool in 1985. I had set up 4 cones in the parking lot in a straight line.

          Round 1 – 5 burpees, broad jump to the cone, 1 Burpee, then back to the start for 5 more burpees.

          Round 2 – 10 Merkins, Lunge to the cone, 10 Merkins, down and back. (Each PAX took turns leading the Merkins)

          Round 3 – 20 Carolina Dry Docks and 20 LBCs, jog down to the end and repeat, and then jog back to the start and repeat again.

          Round 4 – 40 SSHs, jog to the last cone, 80 sec chill cut plank with alternating one leg circles, jog back to the start, 40 SSHs

          Round 5 – 50 Merkins, jog down and back, 25 Merkins

Omaha was called at 545 and we gathered the cones and headed back to the Cathouse. We took the back way around the school to complete the mandatory cat crawl up the back hill. Everyone participated and no injuries were reported.

The DUX ESTO award was presented to Ogre and Hip Hip. These 2 HIM are very deserving. Well done men!

COT:

I discussed how 01-30-17 was a significant day in my life as I was involved in an officer involved shooting on that day. I shared the details of the incident and having dealt with PTSD afterwards. Q’ing the workout today is my way of ensuring I will have support and be around my brothers during a day that is always difficult for me. Exercise has always been what has helped me deal with stress and anxiety and this group has truly been life savings so I am thankful for all of you. Live every day to the fullest because things can change in an instant. We show up every day to better ourselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. We must continue to sharpen those skills because I will always Pray for peace, but I am ready for war.
