COT: Geese fly in a V formation. During flight, communication between each bird is important and the V formation can make that easier. They use this technique for two reasons, to slow down energy loss and to keep track of every bird in the formation. Each bird takes a turn in the front of the formation to ensure longer flights with fewer stops. Taking turns allows the birds at the front of the formation to take rests.  When a goose gets injured or sick, two other geese will fall out of formation to stay with the goose until it is able to fly again. Geese and F3 have many traits in common.4. We all work better together5. We support each other when times are tough6. We take turns leading7. We cheer progress8. We are loyal to our purpose. Be purposeful in your actions, thoughts, and words. Sometimes in life, taking the long way is better as it allows you to take in the experience and enjoy the journey. The Journey: So much of this I did not say during the COT as we ran out of time so I figured I would post it here. Going back 3 years ago, I was a husband, father teacher who worked out by myself regularly.  I was in the beginning stages of training for The Las Vegas Half Marathon.  I stumbled on F3 Twitter by accident and decided why not, running by myself was getting kind of boring.  On that Tuesday morning, I showed up to some place called “The Cornhusker Handicap”.  I knew it as Aksarben Village, more specifically Stinson Park. I was welcomed in true F3 fashion, who are you?  How did you find out about us, who EH’d you?  Immediately I was like WTF does “EH” mean?  Anyways, before I knew it, we were off and running.  I was like oh, lets go I guess. The workout (or beatdown is it was called) was great, I felt strong and confident that I kept up with everyone.  Except for the pull ups, I could not reach the top of the gondola, so that was embarrassing. Name-o-rama came and went, I became known as TubeSocks. For a while I only posted on Tuesdays as I still wanted to keep my training routine for the half marathon and more honestly, I felt like I did not have enough time to get home and ready for work on time. Fast forward to winter 2020, I got the flu then COVID shut things down.  We moved in late Spring 2020 to an entirely new part of Omaha.  I realized hey, there are like numerous sites I can hit up now, all within a few miles of my house.  I did not feel the pressure to be home by a certain time, etc. Things just worked out. It was the Summer of 2020 that F3 truly became a big part of my life. I am a pretty reserve person, typically I stick to myself.  However, I felt more and more comfortable being around the PAX and really felt included. Othello approached me asking if I would ever want to “Q” at Futurama.  Unfortunately, it did not work out as school was fast approaching and I would not have enough time to get home and to school.  Then Armbar asked, and I was like ya I can make it work!  The night before my VQ, I slept great!  I don’t get worked up about things as much as I do people. I am confident in my abilities, just not in social settings. The beatdown went well (I think), probably forgot some stuff (still do), but overall I felt happy it was over.  Not gonna bore you with the rest of my “Q” experiences, but just know that each one of them helped raise my confidence in social settings.  It gave me the opportunity to meet new people and realize how much we all appreciate each other. We are the person we are today by the journey we have been on.  Our journey is what shapes, defines, introduces us.  It helps to give us our purpose and helps with our decision making process. I look forward to another great year of F3 experiences! SYITG
