After a night of little sleep as I didn’t want to oversleep this particular morning, I got out of bed at 4:30am, woke up my son (Prime Time) and we headed out the door to the site for my final morning as Site Q at Iditarod.
Upon arriving at the site we were greeted by many guys preparing to go for a ruck as well as some guys preparing to go for a pre-run. Prime Time and I grabbed our cones, lights & exercise sheets and headed to the track to set up for the beatdown.
After setting up Prime Time and I did a slow mosey around the school, it was a good opportunity for me to reflect on my time as a Site Q at Iditarod.
As the PAX gathered at the Flags, I was taken back by how many people were there. The parking lot was completely full, and PAX needed to park in the back lot. It was truly humbling.
At 5:30am sharp, Oscar & I welcomed the PAX to F3 & Iditarod. Oscar & I went back and forth as we went through the Mission Statement, 5 Core Principles, Moto, & Disclaimer. After opening ceremonies the PAX moseyed to the football field for Warm-O-Rama:

COT/Flag Pass:
When it was decided that F3 Omaha was going to launch another Thursday site and wanted me to lead it, I thought they were nuts. The Maize and the Labyrinth were doing amazing and I didn’t see us being able to pull numbers from there to sustain a new site. As many times in my life, I was wrong. The guys at this site created a culture all of its own and I am very proud to be a small part of that.
I have had many amazing memories over the past year as Site Q at Iditarod, following are a few of my favorites:
- Launch day
- Meeting Gator on “Q” street jamming out to Bohemian Rhapsody
- guy on the field doing kettle bell swings/sprints
- Months later – Guy doing kettle bell swings……the birth of “Dark Helmet”
- School Zone – Walking down the sidewalk pulling his speaker having his own party going on in his head
- Mufasa “Q”- Spelled “F3” on Strava by having the PAX run around the neighborhood
- Canadian Bacon’s “Miracle on Ice” Beatdown
- Slow Pitch’s Q – Throwing footballs at each other’s heads in the dark
- Memorial Day COT of Stripes. Top 3 COT
- (3) VQ’s
- Vespa
- Macnudo
- Romper Room
Everyone told me when I launched the site that a leader would emerge. That came to me in the form of Oscar. He was at Iditarod each week and would pre-run each week. I remember getting a text from him once when he was unable to make the pre-run. That is when I knew he was 100% committed and that he was the next Site Q of Iditarod.
We have had many great conversations over the past year on pre-runs, I have a clear understanding of his passion for F3. I am very excited for the PAX to have this great leader and excited to watch Oscar lead.
Thank you for all the memories, Iditarod. You are a special place and I will see you soon!
Blessings-
Boji
