Q: Sister Act

YHC woke up rearing to go, excited to Q somewhere for the first time, and happy to back out in the gloom. (See COT) Arriving at the AO, there were cars and shovels, indicating some pre-runners. My speaker has a magnet on it, so this crucial piece of Heavy Metal equipment was stuck to the top bar of the swings – just the coverage we needed for the rock playlist we worked out to! Guys showed up, weights were set down, pre-runners made their way in. At 0530, the mission, values, credo, and disclaimer were given. From there, we went straight to Warmarama.

WARMARAMA:

  • Grab one weight, Mosey to turf area by Inner Rail, alternating weight at chest and rifle carry on YHC’s call
  • Once at turf – 5 Burpees
  • 10 Big Ones
  • 15 Tappy Taps
  • 10 Tempo Merkins
  • 5 Burpees
  • Mosey back to playground just farmer carrying weight

THANG: ARMS, SHOULDERS, CHEST, LEGS (reps: 20, 15, 12, 10) After W, we went right into these exercises. And we didn’t really quit – there were a few 10 counts, but for the most part, PAX just kept on grinding and pushing. Nice work, boys!

  • Curls, reverse flys, floor press, goblet squat – lap around park
  • Tricep press, side raises, merkins, sumo squat IC – lap around park
  • Hammer curls, bent over rows, flys, lunges  – lap around park

We were able to get through all reps of 20, and then all of the 15’s by skipping 2 laps. Before Mary tho, PAX ran around the park one more time just for good measure.

MARY:

  • 15 LBCs IC
  • 15 Flutter kicks IC
  • Rancid Hammers

NAMARAMA – no FNGs

PRAYERS/ANNOUNCEMENTS – Octagon stuff! (Shirt coming, mental battle meeting), Valas for PAX!, Oscar Mike at Canyon this Sat, then beatdown to honor suicide prevention (wear purple or teal), Stumpy wife Katie, new city, Tin Cup, Demogorgon, DollFace M’s grandpa funeral

COT:

In a moment of vulnerability and honesty, I haven’t been out for a couple weeks and have been struggling internally because of it. Had back stuff and got sick. And man is it hard to get back into the swing of things after some time off! There were times when I got pretty down about things because I wasn’t getting encouragement and friendship like normal from brothers in the gloom.

So two things. One, don’t get complacent. You know you love it out here. Don’t forget that and don’t do things alone – it’s too easy to slip away by yourself.

And two, don’t believe the lie that no one will miss you if you don’t show up. You have a role to play – even if for just one day or moment. You and I need F3, yes. But F3 needs you and I!

Iron sharpens iron, men. So stay in the fight and keep close to the guys around you.

Aye!
