5:15am Swiper welcomed the Pax to F3 – Fitness, Fellowship and Faith –
reminding them of the mission to Plant, Serve and Grow small workout
groups for the invigoration of male community leadership. We are
growing, new sites in Omaha, new FNGs everyday, and we are an
International Organization now.
Swiper then covered the 5 core principles of F3. 1) Open to ALL men. 2.
Always Free. 3) Always held outdoors, 4) Lead in a rotating fashion and 5)
Ends with a Circle of Trust (COT). Do we have any FNGs today?
Credo: Leave no man behind, but leave no man where you found him.
Swiper reminded the PAX that I am not a professional. Modify as
necessary. Workouts are all a suggestion. From this point forward there is
a real risk of injury. You saw what happened to me at the Farm. Swiper
informed the group we would mosey to the Field for WOR.
5:20am Warm-a-rama
- Swiper hit the music – and We mosey’d down onto the field. We did the
following: - 10 Tappy Taps IC
- 10 Windmills IC
- 15 Volleyball Vertical Jumps – Rolfson’s – I NAMED THESE – I stole them
and modified them a bit, from PLSHS Volleyball. On up we would get on
toes, thrust hips up and lift arms high, then on down, we would squat low,
throw our arms back and explode up in a vertical jump. Never seen before
in F3 Omaha. - 15 Superman Yellow Sun (and 15 Red Sun) IC.
5:28 Pre Thang -The Danger Zone
- Swiper informed the Pax we would do SSHs to Kenny Loggins’ “The
Danger Zone” and do a Burpee each time The Danger Zone is said. The
song ws 3:36 and Kenny said Danger Zone about 17-18 times. Not bad.
**First time used at the Danger Zone according to Gobbler. - We then went to the goal line for some sprints. Sprint to the 5, touch the
line, jog back to the goal line, Do the same, every 5 yards and then last one
is the 50 yard line and then Plank to the six. - 10 Merkins Wipes. I have done these once, rarely seen in F3 Omaha.
- Broken Wheelbarrow – 25 Yards, it’s a wheelbarrow run 25 yards, but your
partner could only hold on to one of your legs. Not seen this at F3 Omaha.
Switch and come back to goalline. - Old Faithful. I picked this one up from Homer at F3 Chicago, I know this
is a new one for F3 Omaha. One Pax lays on the ground and holds the
ankles of the other Pax member. The Pax on the ground, puts their legs
straight up, and the other Pax pushes them towards the ground in any
direction. We started with 30 times. Then we would switch. Then Swiper
told half of the group to come closer and we would have an Ol’ Faithful
Competition – See who can do the most. And then Switch. The first group,
Swiper’s partner, Schrute (a specimen), won the first round at 80. The
second group had 3-4 guys get to around 80 and Fun Dip told Swiper he
could not stop since he was the Q. Swiper announced if we got to 100, we
would stop – Swiper and Animal House both did 100. - Swiper led the group on a mosey to the hill on the Northeast corner of the
property.
5:42 The Thang – Diamond Hills
- Swiper informed the Pax we would run up and down the hill until Omaha
was called, and that the Pax would add 1 Diamond Merkin each time they
got to the top or the bottom. - Omaha was called and we did 6MOM at the hill.
5:55am 6 MOM
- We did Rocky Balboa Red Bull Sit ups and the top of the hill. Each
Pax did 15 on the edge of the hill, with their partner holding their
feet. Then we mosey back to the singular shovel flag.
5:58am NOR

COT
- Swiper read the book, “You Are Special” by Max Lucado. It is a story
about a ton of wooden people, called Wimmicks, who were created by a
woodworker, Eli. The Wemmicks go around the town putting stickers
on other Wemmicks. You would get a Gold Star, if they can do
something good, or are pretty or funny, and you would get a Gray Dot if
you are ugly, or had rough wood, or chipped paint. Or you might also
get a Gray Dot if you are not good at anything or weird. One
Wemmick, Punchinello, only got Gray Dots. He tried to jump high and
always fell. He often tried to be funny or smart, and would just say
something silly, so he would get more Gray Dots.
Punchinello began to believe that he was not a good Wemmick, so he
stayed inside most of the time. When he did go out, he just hung out
with other Wemmicks with lots of Gray Dots.
One day, Punchinello met a girl named Lucia. She had no Gray Dots
and no Gold Stars. Wemmicks would try to give her Gray Dots and
Gold Stars and they would just fall right off. Punchinello thought, I
want to be like that and asked her about it. She said she visit’s Eli
everyday.
When Punchinello finally visited Eli, he got scared and tried to leave.
Eli called him back by name and Eli explained that He did not care
what other Wemmicks thought and Punchinello should not either.
Punchinello should just care what Eli thinks, because He made
Punchinello. Then Eli told him that He thinks Punchinello is Pretty
Special.
Punchinello was confused, but probed further, “Why don’t the stickers
stay on Lucia?” The maker spoke softly, “Because she has decided that
what I think is more important than what others think. The stickers
only stick if you let them.” Punchinello was shocked. He said,
“WHAT?!?!?!?” Then Eli reiterated, “The stickers only stick, if they
matter to you. The more you trust my love, the less you care about the
stickers.” The story ends with Eli reminding Punchinello, “That you
are Special because I made you. And I don’t make mistakes.” And as
Punchinello left the maker’s shop, he thought that Eli really means
this……and a Gray Dot fell off of him to the floor.
Then Swiper spoke about how the world will try to define your worth, it
will try to assign you Value – Make you feel important or make you feel
unimportant – Don’t let it. Your relationship with your Lord, and God
and know His love and work to create your own positive self worth –
then no one can take it from you. Know your creator loves you, cares
for you, made you exactly as you are.
Raise your kids to be self confident, Build up your M (wife), and don’t
put any stock or value in how others in this world try to define you.
Then Swiper awarded the Capri Sun Award (today it was a Powerade) –
to the two HIMs with the most Ol Faithful reps, which was Schrute and
Animal House. Swiper called them to the middle for a best of three
game of – Rock/Paper/Scissors. Schrute began saying, “Rock, Paper,
Scissors, Schrute! and won 2 out 3. Congratulations Schrute!
Swiper led the group out in prayer.
Aye! Swiper
