Q: G String
Upon the PAX arrivals, the Thong Song played loud and proud from Duracell’s speaker. Meanwhile, Schrute was handing out g strings to those who dared to wear them over their shorts. At 5:15 am, the music stopped, and G String welcomed the group to the Farm, announcing that F3 stands for Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith. He shared the F3 Mission Statement, to plant, grow, and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership. G String covered the motto of F3, stating that we leave no man behind and no man where we found him. He disclaimed to the group that he is not a professional nor was he aware of any injuries or health conditions, so suggested them to modify as necessary. He then asked if there were any FNG’s or newbies to the Farm. There was one first time farmer. Lastly, the 5 core principles were recited – open to all men, always outside, held in a rotating fashion, ends in a circle of trust, and it’s free.

COT:
First part of the COT, I took the opportunity to tell the story of my EH process and why I continue to show up to F3. I was EH’d by Baby Shark. Our M’s are cousins, so we’ve known each other for over a decade. A year or two ago I recall him mentioning this group that he works out with, but we didn’t really take it into any more depth than that. He brought his large speaker to my three-year-old daughter’s birthday party and when I complimented it, he simply said it’s great to have at our workouts. This then got me curious, and he went on to say that it’s free, it’s a great group of guys, and we do some crazy stuff, like flipping tires (haven’t flipped any yet by the way). I was even more intrigued. Well, a month or two went by and I realized that I needed something – a challenge, a purpose, and commitment outside of my family and work. I texted Baby Shark and he said to come to Papillion La Vista High School that Tuesday. I think everyone who was in attendance that day remembers Jean-Claude’s beatdown. It involved a lot of running and a lot of pushups. I finished – and I was gassed.
The last year I was not accelerating. My priorities weren’t straight. I found myself spending late nights on the couch watching Seinfeld with a drink in my hand. Something had to change, I knew it (and my wife knew it as well). I continue to come because these gatherings are the perfect start to my day and quite honestly, I leave looking forward to the next. Every day I get to come, I feel accomplished. There’s a camaraderie amongst the group that is not like anything else. I enjoy the encouragement and the brotherhood. The group has reignited my faith and spirituality that I have lost over the years.
The second part of the COT, I covered Part 1 of a 4 Part Series for my COTs – living by the G Code (a book I read that explains living everyday by four G words). “Grateful” was our focus today. The reason some people aren’t getting what they want in life is because they aren’t grateful for what they have. If God gives you something, and you’re not grateful for it, why would he give you some more stuff to not be grateful for? If you focus on the negativity in your life, such as anger, frustration, jealousy, and hate, it will become more apparent that it’s there. I explained a couple tricks to the group to remind them to be grateful, such as a nightly log or your morning alarm clock. Thank God for the day because we are not guaranteed the next.
The PAX then enjoyed coffee on site until we were chased off by the heavy rainfall (thank you God for the rain!).
Aye!
G String.
