5:15 – Bayside welcomed the PAX to F3 by covering all the necessities, with the exception of one, which was to remind the PAX that he was not a profession and to modify as needed.

Mission Statement: Our mission is to plant, grow, and serve small workout groups for men for the re-invigoration of male community leadership.

5 Core Principals: 1. Open to all men 2. Free of Charge 3. Always held outdoors 4. Lead in a rotating fashion 5. End in Circle of Trust

Credo: Leave no man behind, but leave no man where you found him.

Once the beatdown started, so did a playlist of some of the top country songs of today. The playlist consisted of 1.5 hours of music, however, there was a Wild Card: Johnny Cash’s Ring of Fire. At some point of the beatdown the song could play, at which point the PAX was to immediately stop whatever exercise they were doing and go into a side straddle hop. Every time ‘Ring of Fire’ is said in the song, do a burpee. The playlist was on shuffle, so if it happened to play, it would purely be by chance. Bayside mentioned that on the drive to the AO, the song did play, so now if it happened during the beatdown, it would be fate.

Mosey back to the open field for the Thang.

There was some confusion at this point due to a couple PAX members inadvertently picking up the cones after the Pre-Pre-Thang. It was all good though, as those PAX members and Bayside put the cones back out quickly, while Schrute had the remaining PAX count off into groups of 4.

The Thang: 4 man grinder starting at north end of the field

2 guys ran halfway to the first set of cones to do 10 merkins. From there, they ran the remaining distance to the far set of cones to do 2 burpees. Finally, they ran the full distance back to the group to switch off with the other 2 group members.

While waiting for the 2 guys to get back from the run/merkins/burpees, starting with the first exercise, AMRAP until the switch off.

As time drew down, it actually happened. RING OF FIRE. A circle was formed and the PAX completed the wild card. There was still a little left time until Omaha, so at the conclusion of the song, the grinder continued.

5:50 – Omaha was called and the PAX moseyed back to the flags, where Sarpy Slammers and Name-a-rama were completed.

Announcements: A couple new AO’s will be launching in the upcoming weeks. Beverly Hills, Mount Olympus, The Dune & The Belltower.

Prayer Requests: For Chernobyl’s M, Kelsey, as she is scheduled to have spinal fusion surgery within the next week. Also requested for Icy Hot’s friend, Mike, who recently experienced a death in the family.

COT: (Switching to first person) Since I scheduled my VQ with Ferdinand a month and a half ago, I’ve been obsessing about how it can be the perfect VQ, the perfect beatdown, and the perfect COT. As I thought through all the different posts I’ve completed and what I wanted to do, I came to the realization that it won’t be perfect. What may be ‘perfect’ for one person, isn’t perfect for another. We all strive for perfection, but nothing will ever be completely perfect, so don’t get disappointed when it isn’t achieved. As I thought about how I could use that, I thought of something my 2.0’s teacher said at parent teacher conferences last fall. He said that he always told the students to ‘Be Better Than Yesterday!’. So, in summary we don’t have to be perfect, but just better than yesterdayand we can accomplish great things.

Took the PAX out in a Ball of Man.

AYE!
