Rolled up to the middle school at approximately 4:45 to set out some lights for The Thang and got
to thinking about the first day driving up to my first beatdown with F3. Wow, I had no idea what I
was getting myself in to, but could feel an energy with the F3 group that was very unfamiliar (in a
good way!!). Now a year later this group has that same energy and we get to enjoy it every day!
Trying to soak in the moment as much as possible!
Obi-Wan welcomed the PAX to F3 at 5:30 AM and asked if anyone was ready to have fun today.
Surprisingly it was a very bleak response from the PAX so assuming it was Friday, I’m sure the
PAX were just tired! YHC stated what F3 stands for, recited our five core principles, called out
the F3 mission statement and our F3 credo. No FNG’s in attendance. Completely missed the
fact that YHC is not a professional and to modify (my bad guys!).
Mosey to the parking lot East of the shovel flags for Warm-o-rama:
Warm-o-rama:
The PAX circled up and went down the list of warmup exercises.
15 Overhead Claps
Sun Gods (10 forward, 10 reverse)
Tricep Stretch (10 count on left and right)
15 Tappy Taps
Pigeon (10 count each side)
10 IC Michael Phelps
Round of neck stretches
Off to the middle school parking lot for the Pre-Thang!
Pre-Thang:
The PAX was instructed to line up between a couple light poles in the middle school parking lot.
Each PAX was to find a partner of similar size for some buddy wheelbarrows. The pair was to
buddy wheelbarrow to the other end of the parking lot and then Bernie Sanders back. Please
modify as necessary. We completed a couple rounds and Recover was called to move on to The
Thang. Down to the track for The Thang.
The Thang:
The PAX circled up on the track to count off in groups of 4. As we all know, math and counting
are the hardest things we do in F3 and this morning was no different. YHC had everyone stay in
their group of 4 as they counted so we ended up with (3) groups of 4 and (1) group of 8. It
worked out great, but would probably do that one different next time!
There were lights setup on the track at each end. (2) lined up with the 50 yard line of the football
field and the other (2) on the turns. Each light had two exercises the PAX was to complete prior
to running to the next light.
Light 1
20 Air Squats
15 IC LBC’s
Light 2
20 Ranger Merkins
15 IC Monkey Humpers
Light 3
20 Alt Lunges (10 each leg)
30 second plank
Light 4
20 werkins
15 IC heel touches
Omaha was called at approximately 6:03. Back to the shovel flags.
Mary:
PAX circled up for one round of American Hammers: Rancid Style. (Starting with Baby Shoes…
congrats brother!)

COT:
This was the hardest time I’ve had putting together a COT. There was so much over the last year
that every time I went to write something out it was too long. (So speaking from the heart I may
not have the COT word for word below.) However, there were a couple things that I continually
came back to.
- Vulnerability – this group has taught me that being vulnerable is okay. Being a man in
society, sometimes it seems that we’re not supposed to have emotion. Through others
COT’s and talking to other PAX members that is something that makes F3 great. We can
all share emotions with each other. Also, share those emotions with family and friends, it
can be very powerful. - Joy – F3 has brought me so much joy over the last year and has also taught me what
true joy is. It’s something that I don’t take for granted, it’s so special. Whether you’re a
new guy or grizzled veteran of F3, lets keep this train going and continue to lean on one
another.
Gator took us out in prayer.
SYITG!
Obi-Wan
