Disclaimer: I am not a professional, modify as necessary. The exercises are simply a suggestion.
Warm-O-Rama: The PAX completed the following after circling up around the flags:
17 SSH
17 Cherry Pickers
17 Imperial Walkers
Pre-Thang: YHC connected the Bluetooth speaker to his phone and told the PAX that his playlist was Bennington inspired (AKA BUNZ TOWN), therefor all the songs were related to butts/bunz/posteriors/etc… We numbered off into ones and twos and all took a short mosey down a nearby grassy hill to find a list of exercises. The ones would sprint the hill and perform 5 burpees together at the top. The twos would be completing the exercises on the list until the hill group returned. Each group was able to complete the list once and completed at least five trips up and down the hill. The group performed 5 Navy Seal burpees together as a group before Omaha was called on the Pre-Thang. The exercise list was as follows:
(20) – Merkins , (20)- LBCs IC, (20)- Ranger Merkins, (20)- Big Boys, (20)- Werkins, (20)- Flutter Kicks IC, (20)- Diamond Merkins, (20)- Alt. Heel Touches IC, (20)- Alt. Shoulder Taps IC, (5)- Navy Seal Burpees
Thang:
The PAX moseyed to a grass practice football field on the north side of campus and partnered up. Lighted cones and a list of exercises awaited them in the endzone. One partner would AMRAP the exercises listed on the sheet, while the other ran to the other endzone and completed 7 Chuck Norris T-Merkins (NOT 17!!) before running back to switch. The list was as follows:
M- Merkins
A- Apolo Ohnos
R- Rosalitas
K- Kraken Burpees (3 hand release Merkins at the
bottom)
T- Tie Fighters (Arm circles while doing lunges,
Forward=right leg Backward=Left leg)
F A- RVA beans (LBC’s while spinning clockwise and
counterclockwise)
Y- Your choice (Anything upper body)
L- Lt. Dans (Squat and then a lunge for each leg)
O- Outlaws (Flutter kick style, but keep legs together
and trace the alphabet)
R- Ranger Merkins (Merkin w/hands in line with ribs)
I tried to go out of my way to encourage every PAX that was present as I ran down the football field multiple times. Most PAX made it to the letter “F” on the list and close to 1.5 miles for the workout. YHC led the group in 17 Farva Beans (IC) each direction to end the workout together. We all headed back to the flags around 6:09AM.
Prayers and Announcements
Prayer request for Pit Stop’s M and everyone battling breast or any kind of cancer.
Prayer request for Flat stick as he prepares for his citizenship test next week.
I encouraged the PAX to try and visit other AOs to meet new people.
I also reminded the PAX that winter was coming and to not use it as an excuse to not post. The right gear makes a world of difference.
COT
Today’s workout was similar to the workout I organized for the previous week’s flag pass at the Catamount Complex. It was partially inspired by my late friend Mark Kaipust and his late seven-year-old son Taylor. The exercises actually use their initials as you go down the list. The passing of those two individuals had a huge impact on my life, but I have made the conscious choice to turn an extreme tragedy into positivity. This choice has helped me deal with the event and bring about good from it. The event brought me to F3, which then led me to dedicate a site to them and even raise money for a scholarship in their honor. Continuing to honor their legacy drives me to do more everyday in all aspects of my life. I encourage you to try to do the same with any trauma you have had in your life. Changing your perspective on the event can lead to better things for you, your family, and the community.
