Q: Boss Hogg

I arrived at the AO shortly before 0445 for this morning’s pre-run. We had a great group of hammers pre-running and rucking in yet another beautiful F3Omaha gloom. Once those PAX returned to the shovel flags, we got things started at 0515.

I welcomed the PAX to the Bell Tower. There were no FNGS and no first-timers to the Bell Tower. Just a bunch of salty F3 vets this morning. I started off by informing the PAX that at F3 we have a Mission Statement which is to “plant, grow and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership.” We also have five core principles:

  1. Free of charge
  2. Open to all men
  3. Always outside
  4. Led in a rotating fashion
  5. We will end in a circle of trust (COT)

Our F3 Credo is that we will leave no man behind, but leave no man where we found him. Lastly, I reminded that PAX that I am not a professional and to modify today’s beatdown as needed.

Warm-O-Rama

Following the intro, we started our watches and moseyed over to the turf field. If you listened closely enough you could still hear the cries from the Bellevue East football team as their tails were kicked in by Bellevue West, 62-0 the night before.

We circled up toward the south goal line for Warm-O-Rama where we completed:

  • 20 SSH IC
  • 10 Michael Phelps IC
  • Runners Stretch
  • Hurdlers Stretch

Everyone seemed to be a big fan of the hurdlers stretch, especially by those that recently completed the IPC beatdown. We need more of this.

The Pre-Thang

Quarter Pounder

Start at the goal line, run to the 25 and perform 25 Big Boys, run back to the goal line. Run to the 50, and perform 50 Merkins, run back to the goal line. Run to the far 25, perform 75 LBCs, run back to the goal line. Run to the far goal line, 100 Air Squats, run back to the goal line. Plank to the 6.

The Thang

Just as we were about to start the Thang, the stadium lights came one. Once we finished squinting, I think we can all agree that this group is more handsome in the dark.

For the Thang we partnered up.

Round 1. The group was instructed, with their partner, to broad jump the length of the football field, stopping at every five-yard increment to perform one burpee. Once you reach the far goal line with your partner, you will broken wheelbarrow back to starting goal line, switching off as often as you need to reach the starting goal line.

Round 2. The group bear crawled the length of the field with their partner, stopping every 10 yards to perform 10 WW1 sit-ups. Once again, once you reach the far goal line, broken wheelbarrow back to the staring goal line.

Omaha was called at 0550.

We had to take advantage of the stadium lights so NOR was completed at the 50 yard-line after completion of 17 Sarpy Slammers.

COT

I informed the PAX that September 13th is National “Think Positive Day.” I told the PAX that when I’m presented with challenges or something does not go my way, my mindset tends to trend negative. I think it’s a preparation thing for me – assuming the worst so I can get ready for it if it happens, however, that rarely seems to play out and probably isn’t the healthiest thing. I told the group that I was going to challenge myself with being intentional about taking a more positive mindset toward life as I go into the weekend and encouraged everyone else to do so.

Lastly, I told the PAX that if today’s COT didn’t resonate with them, the first “Friday the 13th” of the year (which is today) is also “Blame Someone Else” day so there’s always that. Ha!

I took the PAX out in prayer.

Aye!
