AO: The Brickyard

Date: 04/11/2025 @ 0530

QIC: Snidely

PAX: Hershey, Moses, Bald Eagle, Bobsled, Folsom, Bloodshot, Squidward, Falling Water, Snidely

FNGs: 0

Count: 9

Conditions: 40 deg F, 6 mph NW — clear and beautiful moon

The QIC rolled up at 0455 to pre-ruck. Bobsled was already jogging the the loop. (Later we found out Moses pulled up at 0505 and missed the pre-ruck party). The start time came quickly. The parking lot filled up quickly, and familiar faces and fist bumps filled the playground at Stinson Park. Falling Water made it to the workout but couldn’t join in the festivities due to a recent surgery, but he wanted to make sure the Brick Chain was passed to the next weekly champion.

Five-thirty hit, and the Q recited the words familiar to F3 veterans. All five core principles were said out loud, the mission was confirmed, and the credo was stated for all to hear. An important disclaimer was given – we’re not professionals and to modify as necessary. No FNGs were present. Folsom tried to tell people he was a Brickyard first timer… but it didn’t fool anyone!

WARM-O-RAMA (0531)

The warm-up was short. We had stuff to do.

  • El Chapo Through the Tunnel x 15 (IC).
  • Windmills x 10 (IC).
  • Fickle Swings (Leg Swings) x 10 OYO.
  • Good enough… let’s go!

PRE-THANG (0534) – Buy in to the workout

  • 20 Merkins;
  • 20 Count Plank;
  • 20 Alt Shoulder Tap IC;

  • Cherry Pickers – 20 IC;
  • Chinooks – 20 IC;
  • Seal Claps – 20 IC;
  • Overhead Claps – 20 IC;
  • Raise the Roof – 20 IC and recover.

Bald Eagle looked like he was ready to tap and Hershey looked like he was having too much fun… well, the fun was about to start. Let’s get to it!

THE THANG (0539) – Time to party again!

From the start, this was going to be a grueling workout. The rep count is high, the exercises are hard, and it shoulder burners were intended to fatigue you before you got started. But, collectively, we will push each other to be better, and we will push each other to get the last few reps in (… like “halfway there!”, “almost there”, etc.). The last few reps are were all the gains are and will separate the men from the boys, and the champions from the rest. LFG!

Round 1

  • Curls – 20
  • Overhead Press – 20
  • Goblet Squats – 20
  • Chest Press – 20
  • Skull Crushers – 20

Round 2 (Rifle Carry to Benches)

  • Merkins with Shoulder Taps x 10 IC
  • Dips x 20
  • Step Ups x 20
  • U Hauls x 20 IC broken up into 2 sets. (We don’t do these often enough)!
  • Dips x 20 again… why not?

Round 3 (Rifle Carry to Playground)

  • Upright Rows – 20
  • Grave Diggers – 20 IC
  • Tricep Extensions – 20
  • Curl to Press – 20 IC
  • Deadlift to High Pull – 20 IC

Round 4 (Rifle Carry to Curb)

  • ‘Snidely Squats’ (1 ¼ Squats) – 10 IC heels up on curb. And boom, Hershey was sooooo strong, he broke the coupon; it just couldn’t handle the beatdown anymore! Luckily Site Q Bald Eagle had a spare.
  • Johnny Dramas – 30 IC heels hanging off curb
  • ‘Snidely Squats’ (1 ¼ Squats) – 10 IC heels up on curb — did I see Folsom cramp up there?!
  • Lieutenant Dan to Barricades with weight (lunge-lunge-squat, etc.) back to the Playground. SOOOOOOOOO many groans.

And Omaha…

The Lieutenant Dan’s might have been the hardest exercise for some. Others didn’t care for the U Hauls. Personally, the Q wasn’t looking forward to the Tricep Extensions in Round 3… they always kick his butt. We put the reps in and made some gains. Well done! But 6 Minutes of Mary (6MOM) still is hanging out there.

6MOM (0608)

  • Gargoyles 20 IC (monkey humpers but crouched on top of the coupon) — Holy crap this burned so bad/ Some PAX might have fell off the coupon, but totally worth it!
  • Mississippi Prom Date 20 IC – Hershey was really eager to count this exercise off using a new coupon!. Just sayin’ ….
  • 15 IC heel touches/penguins
  • 15 IC XYs (Rosalita on ½ count, Flutter Kick on ¾ count)
  • 30 count Iron Cross (felt like eternity)
  • American Hammers Rancid Style x 1 round = 8 total. We forgot that Falling Water was still walking around. But, Omaha was called and we we’re done.

Videorama (0612) Done and posted.

Brick Chain awarded to Snidely from Falling Water.
