The morning began promptly at 0515 where the PAX were welcomed to The Bell Tower. D2 shared that this was his first visit to Dongtown – home of Bellevue’s best coffee.
We covered the F3 Mission Statement, “The mission of F3 is to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership.”
We covered the five core principles:
- Free of charge
- Open to all men
- Held outdoors (“ALWAYS OUTSIDE”)
- We are led in a rotating fashion
- We will end in a Circle of Trust
We covered that our credo is that we will leave no man behind, but leave no man where we found him.
I reminded the PAX that I am not a professional and to modify as necessary.
Warm-O-Rama:
We circled up by the shovel flags and completed 10 SSHs IC, 10 Tappy Taps IC, 10 Sun Gods IC (forward and reverse)
The PAX moseyed over to the track for the Thang.
The Thang
The Thang was a Tabata style workout. The PAX were given 3:30 to complete one lap around the track, then AMRAP a particular exercise, followed by 30 seconds of rest, then would complete another lap with a new exercise…so on and so forth until OMAHA was called.
Lap1: Merkins
Lap 2: Alternating Lunges
Lap 3: Big Boys
Lap 4: Carolina Dry Docks
Lap 5: Air Squats
Lap 6: Hold Chilcutt Plank
Lap 7: Groiners
We completed one more lap to get to two miles on the track, then called OMAHA at 0552

COT:
I shared that I happened to see a video yesterday on Twitter from one of the Husker accounts where Ron Brown was speaking to the players on the legacy of Brook Berringer. I thought that the timing of me seeing the video was interesting given that the Gradoville event was to take place later that day. The quote that stuck with me from this video was Ron Brown saying, “the death of a great person should breathe life in the people they leave behind.” I told the PAX I wasn’t sure exactly where I was going with the COT, but that it was a powerful message for me in that moment and I felt like it was a good reminder to pass along to others.
I took the group out in prayer.
Aye!
