Q – Sweet Sweet

PAX:  Gundy, Boob Tube, Shark Week, Grease Fire

27 Degrees, Warm and foggy.  Ground was slushy and icy all over.  I had brought shovels and cleared a path to the picnic tables where I knew we could avoid getting completely soaked.  Shark Week helped shovel before 4 of us Pre Rucked.

The Q kicked off festivities promptly at 5:30 and told the PAX the 5 core principles, mission statement, credo.

Warm-O-rama consisted of moseying over to the boat ramp area and taking a look at the lake.  We did Side Straddle hops, tappy taps, big ones, touch your toes, squat stretch, Michael Phelps, sun gods and then ran back to the flag area.

We went right into the Thang.  We each grabbed a set of dumbbells to use and circled up.  We did sets of 10 on many different exercises.  Curls, triceps extensions, shoulder press, squat with a shoulder press, arms straight out to the side and in front, merkins, big boy sit ups, mountain climbers and then run a lap around the circle drive.

When we got back, we went to the picnic tables and began again on sets of 10-15 with our weights.  We laid on the tables and did bench press variations, core work, step ups with shoulder press, one legged squat each leg, more Curls and ran another lap.

Final set was you call it by each person.  I said to pick the one you like the least or most and called each person to lead their set.  I finished with core work on the picnic tables.  I called Omaha and we made our way back to the flags.

COT

I told the PAX that a few months ago I had attended church where my parents go and heard a sermon that hit me.  I said the sermon was 20 minutes, but I am summing it up in 2.  Change your “What ifs” to “Even ifs”.  “What if” are two words that come up quite a bit and create a level of anxiety when thought about.  What if something bad happens to my wife or kids or family or friends?  What if I don’t get that job I am going for?  What if this or that can bring a person down and kind of feel helpless.  Some things are going to happen to you or someone you love, and it will be difficult.  Let’s not look at the What ifs with anxiety and fear.  Let us look at our situations and change the words to EVEN IF.  Even if this or that does happen – I will be strong enough to get through it with the help of family, friends, and F3 brothers.  Look to Jesus and lean on him to get us through.  Even if you don’t get that job, house, car… Even if someone you love gets sick or passes away, we will be ok.  I prayed us out.
