PAX:  The Plague, Borland, Bubbles, Waffle House, Tonight Show, Crab Cakes, Tater Tot

Q: The Plague

Welcomed 7 PAX to a damp morning at The Maize. Reminded PAX that Plague is not a professional. The Plague introduced the PAX to Chase the Lion concept with this quote, “If your dream doesn’t scare you, it’s not big enough”. Let’s mosey!

Warm-A-Rama

The PAX moseyed around the neighborhood and to the basketball court for warm-a-rama.

  • Sprinklers 20 IC
  • Pickle Pushers 15 IC
  • SSH 20 IC
  • SSH 21s – 1-5 out loud, 6-21 mentally everyone stops at 21 – everyone was in sync…☹
  • Absolution – 8 IC
    • This workout was halted mid count due to complexity of 8-count and PAX inability to keep up.
    • Bubbles then suggested and demonstrated The Plague’s previously attempted Circle Jump Lunge exercise. This was only performed by Bubbles who will be providing future demonstrations upon request. Please be sure to ask him next time you see him – it was Epic!
  • Circle-Merkins – each PAX count 10 merkins, PAX completed a total of 70 merkins

Mosey the Thang

PAX moseyed around Copperfield to the hill. The 70 merkins performed prior to this mosey created lots of mumble chatter from sore pectoralis majors. The Plague gave Bubbles the choice between partnering up or having a running rover. Bubbles chose the running rover.

The Plague explained the Thang as such:

PAX will each perform 200 burpees. One guy will run down and back twice and then rotate running rover position while other PAX complete their 200 burpees.

Bubbles, Crab Cakes and Borland had the opportunity to participate as the running rover before The Plague called an Omaha at about 50 burpees per #HIM. PAX then moseyed to top of hill for a group escalator

Escalator consisted of:

  • 10 – Double push-up burpees
  • 20 – Jump Tucks
  • 30 – LBCs
  • 40 – air squats

PAX continued moseyed back to the shovel flags for 6MOM.

6MOM:

  • Big Boy Sit-ups 15 on the up
  • Flutter Kicks 20 IC
  • Low Dolly 20 IC
  • American Hammers 30 IC (Led by Bubbles)

Announcements/COT:

  • The Plague shared Mark Batterson’s approach to life from his book “Chase the Lion”.
    • Based upon 2 Samuel 23, Chase the Lion tells the true story of an ancient warrior named Benaiah who chased a lion into a pit on a snowy day—and then killed it. For most people, that situation wouldn’t just be a problem…it would be the last problem they ever faced. For Benaiah, it was an opportunity to step into his destiny. After defeating the lion, he landed his dream job as King David’s bodyguard and eventually became commander-in-chief of Israel’s army under King Solomon.
    • When the image of a man-eating beast travels through the optic nerve and into the visual cortex, the brain sends the body a simple but urgent message: run away! That’s what normal people do, but not lion chasers. Rather than seeing a five-hundred-pound problem, they see an opportunity for God to show up and show His power
    • This is a radically different approach to life. When we stop fearing failure, we can fully seize opportunity by the mane
    • Mark invites lion chasers to chase dreams so impossible that victory demands we face our fears, defy the odds, and hold tight to God.
    • These are the kind of dreams that will make you a bigger person and the world a better place.
    • What’s your five-hundred-pound dream?
  • Prayers
    • Tonight Show brought it home with a delightful prayer. Reminding us all to keep injured PAX in our TAPs
  • Coffeteria at Starbucks
