Pax: Brazillian, Stella, Toadstool, Huffy, Lansbury, Touche’, Sgt Pencil, Kielbasa, Sputnik, Wiley, Pigpen

Q: Frosty

Frosty welcomed the PAX.  He was glad to see FOUR HIM from his 2020 VQ!  YHC welcomed the PAX to F3, reviewed 5 core principles, creedo and disclaimer.  With that we moseyed around the wooded path to warm up and returned for warm-o-rama

Warm O’ Rama:  15 SSH, 15 Tappy-Taps, 10 Big Ones, 10 Windmills

The Pre-Thang:  “MMM”
We made our way to the incline between the court and the building for the pre-thang.  This two man grinder is a work in progress called MMM (Merkins, Monkey Humpers, Mountain Climbers)

We successfully partnered up at the bottom of the hill.  The exercises are AMRAP while your partner runs to the top of the hill does 3 Burpees and returns.  So you do them in sets.  The idea is to get through each exercise twice.  We did.  Some got through more.  Some got through less.

The Thang:  Ultimate Frisbee.

Ok, so, A LOT of good takeaways from playing THIS game on THIS day.  Pro:   the light up frisbee is perfect for playing in the dark.  Con:  Glow stick necklaces really look the same no matter what color they are.  Pro:  These guys will have fun and keep moving no matter what.  Con:  Guys may not move at full speed and get the most benefit if they can’t go full speed because its really, really dark!

Calories were burned.  Fun was had.  Scores were made.  We have no idea how many.

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND PRAYER REQUESTS were shared.

COT:  A couple of weeks ago I did a COT at The Coliseum where I got completely vulnerable sharing about a conflict at work.  As the problem escalated and escalated, I knew I was right.  Taking a look at the problem with an impartial HIM, I realized that even though I was right, I was still upsetting everyone.  I was making the problem worse, in fact, I was now the problem.

I made amends with my department.  I asked for a little time and grace to make some changes and I specifically apologized to my boss and followed it up by emailing him a copy of the COT.  That was a risk.  That was being vulnerable for sure.

A month later he pulled me aside and thanked me for that.  He complimented all of you (F3) and he told me he’s seen a lot of positive change in my attitude and behavior.  He said it had been a month and he believed the positivity he’s seen is not habit for me.  Good habits.  He’s a big Wooten guy.  Anyway

My point is this.  There is a reading at the beginning of the meeting at my home AA meeting.  “Who you see here, what you hear here should stay here.  But you are welcome to take what is said here and use it in your daily life”.  The second half of that rings true for F3 as well.  I had the opportunity to be honest and vulnerable in the workplace and I did.  Leadership, Candor, Vulnerability, Integrity, Accountability.  I want to take all these F3 principles and use them in my daily life.
