The Thang

5 stops along a 2.8 mile run. At each stop a choice is given to a PAX member as to what excercise they perceive as more difficult.

1. 25 T Merkins or Ranger Merkins. Ozark picks T merkins. I was doing hand release and was corrected by my man Gris and we get it right. Then 15 Flutter Kicks IC

2. 25 Monkey Humpers or Tempo Squats. Chiclets picks Tempo Squats. Then 15 Rosalitas.

3. 25 Carolina Dry Docks or 25 Werkins. Slow Clap picks Carolina Dry Docks. Then 25 Frozen Freddie’s IC

4. 25 Burpees or 15 Hydraulic Squats IC. Long Neck Picks Hydros. By far the dumbest exercise we do. Good Pick. Then 15 Box Cutters IC

5. 25 Twinkle toes or 25 Jungle man squats. Chowda pick Jungles. Then 15 low dollies.

CoT.

“Next time your feeling down just remember life is all about perspective…I have a friend who has sex 3-4 times a week, gets 2 workouts a day and reads at least 1 book a week. Yet every time we talk all he does is complain about being in prison.”

(So I started this CoT with this joke. The PAX gets it right away and starts to laugh immediately. As I was reading it I could tell that they got caught the same way i did. Thinking that this life sounds great. )

As soon as my friend sent this joke to me I knew I had to make it a CoT. It was too good not to. Because for most men the start of this joke sounds great. But things are not always as they seem. The grass is not always greener. I know I got caught in this just recently. A friend text me on Saturday morning asking if I could get away because he got some tickets to the husker game. Well I had to be home with the kids because my M was at work. And for a split second I was sucked into the thought of how nice it would be if I had no responsibilities and could just up and go do what I want when I want. To be the Jack Reacher. But then I remembered That I wouldn’t grade in my life with my family for anything and that the life where you can always do what you want can be a prison in its own way.
