Q: Toadstool

Toadstool welcomed 18 PAX to the Armory. Gave the mission statement, disclaimer, and the Credo. Toadstool surveyed this all-too familiar land of his awkward middle school years, breathed deeply, and boldly led the PAX on a meandering mosey toward the middle school football field.

Along the way, we stopped for some nostalgic spots…

Near the soccer field: Side Straddle Hop – 15 IC
Next to the little league field: Imperial Walkers – 15 IC
Next to the old middle school dance hall: Pickle Pushers – 15 IC
In the middle school parking lot: Goofballs – 20 IC

Pre-Thang 1: Bear-crawl tour…

Near the old school bus stop the PAX broke up into groups of four and started bear crawling up a frozen hill and stopping at four stations along the way (never standing up) – first station werkins (20), second mountain climbers (20 IC), third was alternating shoulder taps (20 IC), and fourth was Carolina dry docks. Our hands were cold. Our shoulders hurt. We rinsed and repeated.

Pre-Thang 2: PAX then ran down to the middle school football field, circled up and played…

-Spin the bottle!

-Toadstool threw an (empty) bottle into the center of the circle to see at which HIM it would point. They are then responsible for choosing an exercise – arms, legs, abs. If you didn’t announce your exercise within an arbitrary and unreasonably short amount of time then we all did five burpees.

The PAX stayed in their groups of four and proceeded to the goal line of the middle school football field(a place I rarely saw in my one season of 7th grade football). This beatdown was your basic four-man grinder. Two HIM did the exercises while the other two ran 100 yards and back. Each two-man team was collectively responsible for doing 100, 75, 50, and 25 of each exercise….

-Air Squats – 100
-Big Boys – 75
-Merkins – 50
-Burpees – 25

Rinse and Repeat…

Mary: After “OMAHA” we moseyed back to the shovel flags…

-Big Boys with alternating elbow to knee – 20
-Freddie Mercurys – 15
-American Hammer – Rancid Style
