 “The Ultimate Valentine”

6 Pax: Swiper, Animal House, Grease Fire, Swiper, Irish Car Bomb, Yogi, Goose

QIC:  Swiper

4:45am     Smurph: Grease Fire, Swiper, Animal House, Irish Car Bomb,            Yogi

5:30 am    I began recruiting for the Beatdown at the Smurph.  Yogi was undecided if he would Murph or hit StormBreaker….that’s when I went back to my sales roots and sold the work out.  It worked!  No Dr. Thunder, no GirlDad, no HuHot, etc.  But that’s ok.  I welcomed the Pax to F3 – and explained it is Fitness, Fellowship and Faith – reminding them of the mission to Plant, Serve and Grow small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership.  And that is what we had today and I was excited to lead.  I was also excited to meet Goose, who I had not yet met.

I covered the 5 core principles of F3.  1) Open to ALL men. 2.  Always Free.  3) Always held outdoors, 4) Lead in a rotating fashion and 5) Ends with a Circle of Trust (COT) and Grease Fire counted them out.  There were no FNGs today.

I covered the Credo: Leave no man behind, but leave no man where you found him.  And we would live the credo out today.

I then grabbed my, Huffy made, custom Swiper Coupon and informed the group, we would need one PAX to rifle carry the coupon to each location and then perform special workouts with.  I started with with and we moseyed.  I remembered why I sometimes add this element as it sucks, and as I sit here filling in the gaps in my back blast, my neck is still a little sore.

5:34 am      Warm-a-rama

I stopped in the Werner Park parking lot.  We performed the following exercises.

  • 5 Motivators IC
  • 10 Tappy Taps IC
  • 10 Superman Yellow Sun IC
  • 10 Superman Red Sun IC

5:40 am    Pre Thang: Roundabout The Blockee

We continued to move and ran South towards the roundabout on 126th St. and Ballpark Way.  Before we left, I mentioned to the Pax that my Son Noah had a huge Show Choir win for Papillion LaVista South High School, Titanium, defeating Papillion LaVista and Westside.  Westside had not lost a competition to a Nebraska school in 4 years and only one time in the last 25 years (according to my sources).  Needless to say it was like being Alabama or the Miracle on Ice.  I played my sons set list of songs which included:

  • Rise by Sixx:AM
  • Call Me Queen by Ndidi O
  • King is Born by Aloe Blaac
  • If I Own Today by Shayna Steele Featuring Michael McElroy and Capathia Jenkins
  • Feel Good by Jordan Smith
  • Turn It Up by Oh the Larceny

At the roundabout I informed the Pax we would start with a Bear Crawl around the circle and one Pax would stay and do Blockees until we return.  Animal House grabbed the coupon.  Next up we would Bunny Hop half way around to the other side, I did Blockees and called Omaha as we had more moseying to do.  I kept the coupon – we get to Hwy 370 and someone mentioned, it looks like some cones across the road.  I smiled.  Luckily they just installed cross walk signals, so it made crossing 370 a little less dangerous.

5:48 am    The Thang – Wheel of Weights

Once we cross the 370 I explained we would have a two man grinder and to find a partner, one Pax would do continuous Coupon Curls.  Normal Pax would go down the hill 126th St.

  • 100 Werkins
  • 2 – 100 Chloe’s IC
  • 3 – 100 Carolina DryDocks
  • 4 – 100 Low Dollies IC
  • 5 – 100 Monkey Humpers IC

After working through the list (that was much longer) for about 15 mins, Omaha was called and we headed back to the Shovel Flag. We would take turns carrying the coupon while we mosey back to the shelter.  ICB took it first.  The cross walk changed before we got there and it ran out as we were halfway through the West bound lane of 370.  I saw the disturbing looks from folks at 6:04am.

6:04 am     6MOM

We did 15 Big Boys, and 20 Flutter Kicks and then 3 times around the circle for Sarpy Slammers.

6:10 am    NOR

The Name-a-rama was completed – see above for list of those who posted.

  • Blood Drive
  • Poker tournament at Vidlaks

Prayer Requests:

  • Paisley, ICB’s daughter
  • All of those battling with sickness, viruses, colds

I showed the group a chalk board drawing my wive had made, it had the word Valentine down the middle of the verse from the Bible, John 3:16.  I talked about how God showed the ultimate love and gave his only son to the world to save it, having his live 33 years as a human, and by giving his own life, saving all of humanity.  I talked about that kind of love was the best, most powerful love I had ever heard of, making him the Ultimate Valentine.  I asked the Pax to try and immolation that kind of love and if that have accepted Christ’s love.

We did the Ball of Man and I led the group out in prayer.

Aye! Swiper
