14 PAX: Beta Max, Huffy, Griswold, Space Bar, Hot Dog, Folsom, Safe Ride, Honey Made, Sleep Number, Flanders, Lansbury, Rosetta, Cosmo, Stella.
5:30 AM: YHC welcomes PAX. Mumblechatter about hitting double digits today. YHC reviews core principles, gives disclaimer and checks for any FNGs.
We take a short mosey to the basket courts for Warm-A-Rama.
Warm-A-Rama consisted of the following exercises:
- Imperial Walkers
- Tappy Taps
After getting warmed up, we went to the base of the hill for a Pre-Thang. This consisted of 10 oyo burpees at the base of the hill and 10 monkey humpers at the top. The goal was to keep the heart rate up with burpees at the bottom. We did this at least 3x and a few made it into the 4th round before Omaha called.
The Thang: PAX then circled up and we counted into 1s and 2s. The Thang today was a declining rep workout with a run around the smaller track/sidewalk. There were two stations and we did 40 reps of each exercise listed, before running to the next station and continuing on, etc. The reps decreased by 10 each time, so we went 40, 30, 20, 10…
- Bobby Hurley’s
- Alt. Shoulder Taps (IC)
- Hand Release Merkins
- Air Squats
- Makthtar N’Diaye
Light to medium mumblechatter today. At one point, YHC saw Folsom laying on the ground during hand release merkins. Surprisingly, YHC had some techno music in the background and didn’t hear anyone comment either way.
Omaha called at 6:05 AM. We then re-grouped at the basket court for 6MOM. These included: LBCs, Box Cutters, Low Dollys, 1 minute ish plank and American Hammers.
Prayer requests mentioned and noted. Today’s COT was based on a quote from Marcus Aurelius book, Mediations, “…Every man lives only in the present, which is an invisible point, and that all of the rest of his life is either past or uncertain…”
Each time that YHC has come across this quote, I think deeper about it. YHC read twice to hopefully let it sink in. When you think about these words, this morning’s beatdown is already in the past, everything, except the very moment is in the past. Let go of the past. We have no guarantees about the future. YHC encouraged the PAX to balance living for the future (goals are of course good and decisions today certainly impact the future for better or worse) but try to live and be aware of the current present.
