AO – Cornhusker Handicap

PAX: Stitches, Beeps, Sportiva, Buns of Steel, Polaroid, Bovine, Doll Face, E85, Stella.

 

5:30 AM:  YHC welcomed the 9 PAX.  5 Core Principles reviewed and disclaimer given.  No FNGs present today.  YHC was actually filling in this morning for BetaMax, who had something come up the night before.  We then took a mosey to the stage for Warm-A-Rama.  We did: SSH, Tappy Taps, Big Ones, Imperial Walkers and Dirty Dawgs. Pretty standard Warm-A-Rama today. 

 

Pre-Thang:  We then took another mosey, trying to keep warm and moving, over to the benches on the east side of Stinson Park.  Here, we did 20 Step Ups, 20 Derkins, and 20 Dips.  We repeated this 3 times. 

 

Thang:  We then headed back to the playground area for base camp and split into groups of 3 for a partner based beatdown.  Each group completed 50 reps of each exercise listed, ran a lap, then dropped the reps by 10 upon returning to 40, 30,etc until Omaha was called at 6:05 AM.

Omaha called around 6:05 AM.  We then circled up for some 6MOM.  We completed box cutters, low dolly and American Hammers.  We did Name-A-Rama and paused for prayer requests and announcements. 

 

Not a lot of mumblechatter today, as we were in smaller groups and cold.  YHC got a text message around 9:30 the night before and decided to step up and lead.  I conveniently looked in my F3 box and found an old weinke from a previous beatdown to use as a guide for today’s beatdown.  We certainly did way too may hand release merkins, but we all made it through.  Total reps were high today.  

The COT was about being decisive. YHC sometimes (or all the time!) over analyzes not only big decisions, but also smaller less important ones. I’m a lawyer by training and often find my self getting caught in the weeds of decision paralysis. My encouragement today is to sometimes make a decision quickly, understanding that your can’t maximize and sometimes faster is better.  Sometimes “a” decision, is better than no action!
