“Its not the mountain ahead, its the pebble in your shoe”

# of PAX:  6

Prerun: Trench, Swiper, KOA, Ferdinand, High Life

KOA welcomed the Pax to F3 – reminding them of the mission to Plant, Serve and Grow small workout groups for the re-invigoration of male community leadership.

KOA went on to cover the 5 core principles of F3.

1) Open to ALL men.

2)  Always Free.

3) Always held outdoors

4) Lead in a rotating fashion

5) Ends with a Circle of Trust (COT).

KOA discussed the route with the PAX and we were running by 05:31.

The team elected to run east on the trail using the normal pit pre-run. Swiper was complaining about his MABA workouts and said he didn’t want to run any hills after Wait Time and Tator Tot beat us up this week. Naturally we arrived at the hill in the neighborhood and perform repeats as a group. We would run the hill, do 10 burpees at the top, jog down, rinse and repeat. Each PAX had an opportunity to perform a 10 count. PAX then returned to the shovel flags after a nice beatdown. Sarpy Slammers were performed Rancid style x 3 rounds for a total of 18.

We then went into Name-o-rama. The following member were present for a total of 13 PAX members: Trench, Swiper, Squeaky Clean, Ditty, Ear Tag and KOA.

Announcements/Prayer Requests:

  • PAX asked to remember CSAUP at the end of the month.
  • PAX asked to remember the 3rd F opportunity
  • PAX reminded about 2nd F Coffee at Hy-Vee
  • PAX reminded to keep the bruiser cruiser and those sick with COVID in their prayers.

KOA reminisced on a prior COT where someone was sharing thoughts about the little things that bother us day in and day out in our lives. He came across a quote by Mohammed Ali. “Its not the mountain ahead, it’s the pebble in your shoe.” The point is that the actual goal you are striving for or working towards is not the thing that gets you. It’s the pebble in your shoe that constantly nags at you day in and day out. It keeps you from achieving your goals and accomplishing what you set out to complete. How does this apply to your life? What pebbles are in your shoe that constantly nag, dig in , and ultimately prevent you from reaching your goals? What can/will you do to get rid of those pebbles?
