YHC greeted the PAX to the Combine Yoga Studio with “Namaste.” After sharing the mission, the principles and the disclaimer (including “I am not a professional yoga instructor”) the PAX moseyed to the south side of the Kiewit Middle School building. This shielded us from the strong breeze from the northwest.
What may have begun like an extended “Warm-a-Rama” for some pax was actually the entire workout. YHC encouraged everyone to settle in and connect with their inner chi.

COT: Impermanence – cherish the moment
I have frequently reflected on the Buddhist concept of “impermanence.” Mostly, it has been something I must focus on when faced with pain and difficulty. We often neglect to make difficult decisions or do hard things because we “pre-suffer” as we think about the perceived consequences and pain. Buddhism says that one of the fundamental sources of human suffering is a belief that pain is permanent.
Suffering emerges in our hearts because we forget the principle of impermanence and believe the suffering will last forever. Life is actually in constant change or fluctuation. Wind direction and velocity changes nearly every second. Pain and pleasure are constantly changing.
I must be reminded that impermanence is not always about pain. Blessings and happiness are impermanent. Relationships are not permanent. We recently lost to HIM – Selleck and Lemon Law – after they moved to other regions of the country. We grieve that loss.
The realization that happiness and joy follow the same principle of impermanence has helped remind me to remain in the moment. Cherish the special moments. Don’t pre-suffer and lose sight of the gifts of pain and happiness. Neither are permanent.
Chiclets led a prayer.
Grace & Peace,
