Announcements/Prayer Requests:

  • Prayers for all the PAX and family members of PAX affected by COVID.
  • Prayers in advance for all students and teachers as we prepare for what could be a difficult month.

YHC explained to the PAX that as a school administrator, making decisions surrounding COVID protocols and postponements or cancellations of contests is very difficult.  No matter what course you take, there will be some that think you were wrong.  AD’s are polarizing figures.  People either love you or think you’re an idiot.  Not a lot of in between…

I have a quote that hangs in my office that I just read again for the first time in a while.  It hit me at the right time and in doing some research on it found the reflection below, so I read this as my COT:

You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones at every dog that barks. – Winston S. Churchill

When you keep walking on the path to achieving your goal, you will come across a lot of people. Each individual you see along your path will be separate from the previous one you have countered with!

While some people will appreciate you for the achievements you make, and praise you for all those little efforts, there will be yet another bundle of people who will never miss a chance to criticize you.

You can never reach your destination if you stop in front of every single person and try to rectify their thoughts. While some people will motivate you, others will discourage you. However, their words should not have an impact on you.

You must keep going, no matter what! You cannot alter the thought process of each and every individual. However, you can always make up your mind and ignore the criticisms and take those as a recommendation for improving yourself.

If you stop at every single step and take out your time to throw stones at every single dog that barks, you will not be able to achieve all that you have been aspiring for so far!

Hence, you should get going and not feel depressed or disappointed by anyone who keeps barking. Ignore them and focus on your goal, for your achievements will give the answer to their doubts. Let them do what they want, but make sure that you are determined enough to reach your goal.

Or, as Folsom put it, “Ignore the haters!”

I led us out in a prayer of gratitude.

Here’s to good days and better tomorrows!

Cheers and SYITG,

Mother Goose
