One of my grandma’s would have turned 97 today. She passed away year and half ago. I was always proud of how she lived her life. I hope I can always say the same thing when looking back on my life. Jean Claude shared this last month and it really hit home:
Findings from a hospice nurse in Australia. Of all her patients, many had very similar regrets at the end of their lives:
- I wish I had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me
- I wish I hadn’t worked so hard. I missed more of my children’s youth and partner’s companionship than necessary.
- I wish I had the courage to express my feelings
- I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends
- I wish I let myself be happier; I know now, after all these years, happiness is a choice.
