QIC: Wait Time

YHC welcomed 23 PAX members to my first ever Q at the Sanitarium. Delighted to get some Sarpy Swagger with some HIM men. After sharing the mission, principles and disclaimer (including ‘I’m not your friend for next 45 minutes), we moseyed to the track for Warm-A-Rama. PAX circled up in the high jump area for a little yoga warm-up.

PAX divided into two groups for the THANG.

Group 1 (AMRAP): Burpees | Mahktar Ndiaye | Monkey Humper | Turkish Get-ups
Group 2: Plank Hurdle | Partner Push | Wheelbarrow | Partner Carry

While group one did an exercise AMRAP, group two did the designated movement routine for approximately 30 yards. When group two completed the movement, the groups flapjacked and did the AMRAP exercise or designated movement.

Each group finished the THANG by completing the TUNNEL OF LOVE with their designated group. Mosey to shovel flag.

6MOM: American Hammer (rancid style) x 24 IC

CSAUP. Knobs reminded everyone of the CSAUP at the end of January. Details on SLACK. If you can finish a pre-run and beatdown, then you are physically ready for the CSAUP. Don’t miss out. Sure to be a great event.

PRAYERS: PAX shared a number of prayer requests: friends and loved ones battling COVID, healthcare workers, family with uncertain healthcare challenges, family with a recent cancer diagnosis, PAX members who are injured or isolating right now.

As I share the “Parable of the Lost Sheep,” I ask that you think about the FNG you have been EHing that you cannot seem to reach. Think about the next door neighbor that you have not attempted to EH because you don’t think he would embrace F3. For those who may not believe that Jesus is the Son of God, I would ask that you appreciate the teaching methods that Jesus employed and allow me to share this story that may apply to a sad clown you know. Jesus often told parables or used illustrations much like we do in the COT.

In Luke 15, Jesus uses the “Parable of the Lost Sheep” as he is getting criticized for teaching and having fellowship with “tax collectors and sinners.” The Pharisees, the teachers of religious law, thought that righteous people should not mingle with these despicable sinners.

Jesus used the “Parable of the Lost Sheep” to teach about the value of every person. He said that if you have 100 sheep and one strayed away, wouldn’t you leave the 99 in search of the one? Upon finding the lost sheep, you would joyfully carry it home on your shoulders and celebrate its return with friends and family. Jesus ended the parable by saying that heaven rejoices over 1 lost sinner over 99 others who are righteous.

In listening to someone share this parable, I immediately thought of F3 and our beliefs. We are open to all men. We don’t exclude today’s version of “tax collectors and sinners.” We rejoice when an FNG joins the group, or a Kotter returns to the group after being gone.

Sheep are a herd animal. At times, the graze or consume until they don’t realize they’ve isolated from the herd. They don’t intend to move away from the herd. That sounds very familiar to how sad clowns slowly become isolated from other men. Before they realize it, they are alone and lost in life.

I encourage us to never give up on a friend, family member or co-worker. Who are the sinners and tax collectors in our lives that we have avoided. Who seem lost and need for us to search for them?

We ended our morning by lifting up the prayer requests that were shared by the PAX and all the lost men that we search for in the community.

Grace & Peace,

Wait Time
