Prayers for safe and healthy New Year for all PAX

It’s the New Year and everyone is discussing goals and resolutions, which are not bad things! What I want to challenge us with though is to understand and know our why. Why would we show up on New Years Day in freezing temperatures? What drives us to do these things and push ourselves to be better men, husbands and fathers?

I shared about my journey of not growing up with grandfathers and how I desire something different for my children. My WHY is my wife and kids. That is what allows me to push myself to be active and healthy, otherwise I would still be almost 300 lbs and smoking a pack a day.

What we are willing to endure when we have a good enough reason is more than what we think or realize. That reason, that “WHY” is what allows us to push to and through our goals when most things are telling us to stop or give up. Things will get hard, that WHY is what helps push us through the difficult times.

Know your WHY. Seek it out and use it. Share it with others so that they can support you in those times as well.
