Q: Safe Ride
Safe Ride welcomed the PAX to F3 Omaha at 5:30am. The Mission Statement and Disclaimer were given. Safe Ride suggested the PAX recite the Pledge of Allegiance at the Shovel Flags. Once completed, the PAX entered The Colosseum and took a lap.
WARM-A-RAMA
The PAX circled up at midfield after the mosey. Once at the location, the following exercises were performed:
- SSH
- Tappy Taps
- Windmills
- Chinooks
- Randys
- Mountain Climbers
THE PRE-THANG
The PAX moseyed to the south goal line. 50% run to midfield and back. 75% run to the opposite 25-yard-line and back. 100% sprint from the south goal line to the north end zone. FYI, Black Lung is the fastest man alive.
THE THANG
In 1945, Congress officially recognized the “Pledge of Allegiance”. In honor of this event, the PAX would partner up and perform 45 reps each of specific exercises at the north goal line. Once the exercise was completed, the partners would run 60 yards and back to the goal line. The exercises were as follows:
Squats
Mountain Climbers IC
Plank Jacks IC
SSH IC
American Hammers IC
Shoulder Taps IC
Big Boys
Merkins
LBCs IC
Moroccan Nightclubs IC
Lunges
Overhead Claps
Safe Ride called Omaha at 6:07am.
MOM:
Short and sweet today. American Hammers, Rancid style.
COT:
On this date in 1945, Congress officially recognized the “Pledge of Allegiance”. The Pledge, the one recognized today, was originally written in August 1892 by Francis Bellamy, who was a Baptist Minister. It was published in a children’s magazine, The Youth’s Companion, the following month as part of the national public-school celebration of Columbus Day. Columbus having arrived to the Americas 400 years earlier. A marketer of the magazine, James Upham, said to his wife: “if I can instill into the minds of our American youth a love for their country and the principles on which it was founded, and create in them an ambition to carry on with the ideals which the early founders wrote into The Constitution, I shall not have lived in vain.”
Today, it appears the only ideals that exist on a national level are those of turmoil, disagreement, and party politics. As we move into 2022, and another election year, Safe Ride is hopeful that the citizens and elected officials of this country can find a way back to what makes the USA so special. F3, on a more local level, is doing just that. Safe Ride encouraged everyone to carry on the ideals of our founding fathers. Keep being HIM!
