5:30 am    Farva welcomed the Pax to F3 – Fitness, Fellowship and Faith – reminding them of the mission to Plant, Serve and Grow small workout groups for the invigoration of male community leadership.   We are growing, new sites in Omaha, new FNGs everyday, and we are an International Organization now.

Truck Stop then covered the 5 core principles of F3.  1) Open to ALL men. 2.  Always Free.  3) Always held outdoors, 4) Lead in a rotating fashion and 5) Ends with a Circle of Trust (COT).

We had 1 FNG – Brinks.

Credo: Leave no man behind, but leave no man where you found him.

Farva reminded the PAX that I am not a professional.  Modify as necessary.  Workouts are all a suggestion.  From this point forward there is a real risk of injury. Farva informed the group we would mosey.

5:32 am      Warm-a-rama

This was a total of 17 reps per trip up the hill.  The partner not running the hill was planking while alternating lifting one leg off the ground.

6:07am    Post Thang (Foot Pursuit)

Each team was challenged to pretend that the coupons were a stolen TV and they were running from the police. Each team needed to get the coupon (TV) over the fence without dropping it. The teams were supposed to complete each coupon one at a time and the entire team was to run back down the hill together to retrieve the second coupon. The first team with 2 coupons and the entire team over the fence would win. This required some skillful fence climbing from some PAX. The challenge did not go as planned, but we accomplished our goal and worked together to make it happen.

6:13am    The Name-a-rama was completed – see above for list of those who posted.

COT        Brotherhood

It is great to be back where it all started exactly three months ago. I would like to begin with a bible verse. Proverbs 17:17: “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity” Four months ago I had never heard that verse, but on the day of my best friend’s funeral in September it was shared with me randomly by someone on social media that knew him. It was like a sign from him. I always considered our friendship to be more like a brotherhood and I think others saw this too. Another coincidence is that 17 is my lucky number and my badge number is 1717. My sons wear 17 as their jersey number. I know the passage has been shared in the chat group as well so I know it is probably not the first time some of you have heard it.

I share this today because Brotherhood isn’t just blood, it is a bond sometimes stronger than blood. In my last COT I shared how the tragedy of losing my friend and brother led me to this group, but it is also where I found many more brothers. A brother is anyone you can depend on, who you will do anything for. Brotherhood is uniting all of humanity. It is about finding it in your heart to truly care about your fellow human beings and build them up, while allowing them to lift you up when you need it.

I would like to end with a quote from Faith Baldwin “You cannot contribute anything to the ideal condition of mind and heart known as brotherhood, however much you preach, posture, or agree, unless you live it.”

I am humbled and grateful to be part of this Brotherhood, now let’s go out and live it today and every day!!

Swiper led the group out in prayer.

10-7, EOT Farva
