Pax: 15 – Stiches, Rice-A-Roni, Drone Strike, UHaul, Ruxspin, Duster, Arm Bar, Sparty, Retweet, MacNCheese, Othello, Doll Face (Respect!), Bovine, Side Dish, Polaroid
YHC arrived around 5:10 with a plan in mind, he just needed to lay out the route. Quickly took a lap on the north side of Futurama and set up for the Thang that was soon to come. At 5:30 the beat down commenced. Polaroid welcomed all of the PAX, shared our mission statement, disclosure, and core principles.
Warm O’ Rama
Dynamic warmup around the AO. We took off on a mosey around the park. YHC called out various exercises along the way. Exercises completed included:
Karaoke – Both ways
Bear crawl down stairs
Merkin crawl up stairs
Thang – Jailbreak
Warm O’ Rama concluded back at the shovel flags. Polaroid asked the PAX to number off by three. At this point three groups of five were formed. This would set up the format for the Thang. We set off on a short mosey around the setup for today’s beatdown. The route included six stops followed by a visit to the jail house following the conclusion of all six stations.
At each stop two exercises of 20 reps would be completed before moving to the next stop. Once each group completed a lap they would have one roll of the giant jailhouse dice. If you rolled an even number you were in the jailhouse, if an odd number you continued back to the start bypassing the jailhouse.
Your group would stay in jail until relieved by the group behind or upon completion of 10 Jailbreak merkin burpees.
Drop to Plank, do 1 Merkin then bring your right knee in and back, do 1 Merkin then bring your left knee in and back, do 1 Merkin then bring both feet in and jump up = 1 JHMB complete.
Exercises completed at stops as follows:
- Groiners, Monkey Humpers
- Plank Jacks, Mahktar N’Diaye
- Werkins, Hand Release Merkins
- Copperhead Squats, Calf Raises
- Step Ups, Dips
- Alternating Lunges, Jump Tucks
Omaha was called at 6:07 AM and mosey back to shovel flag.
Polaroid shared a message about not self-imposing limits on your capabilities. Often times we tell ourselves what we can’t do – rather than focus on what we’ve done in our life’s and continue to accomplish. When you find moments of self doubt crepping in, take a step back and take a moment for yourself. Look to your blessings and share a moment of gratitude. This small step can allow for peace when faced with moments of high stress or self doubt!
